Seriously, is there anything else in there, maybe a wiring dongle that gets clipped in somewhere? if it's really that easy, I'm whacking it from my order right now.

This comes with the 4-pin plug right? Let's see a picture of the cable.

No. Like other modern Ford product the 7/4 pin is a separate unit available. There is a harness that comes from the body that plugs into it.

Lots of dust on that hitch. Must be more where that one came from.

Not anymore. These are were in the parts depot which has no impact on line production. There are 12 more modules but they have to be programmed, in the vehicle, by VIN. If you don't have tt from the factory, this isn't going to help. Unless............

I'm workin on some stuff but it may require tapping into the rear lights with FT1Z-15A416-A a WPT-975/3U2Z-14S411-JXC and some form of a 9U5Z-14489-MAA.

Part of the problem is the the turn signals come out of the BCM by the driver kick panel, go back to the trailer module over the left rear wheel well, back to the front, out of the body then back to the connector that plugs into the 14489.

Hardest part will be finding a factory spot to take the wires out of the vehicle to the plug. Trying to come up with a semi plug-n-play with as little wire chopping as possible.

Look what showed up today. Who said tow package is a commodity problem?? Guess I'm going to clean out the depot now.

Note to aftermarket: Make the bolts insert from the front (muffler) side, so we don't have to remove the bumper facia.

EDIT: Also address halogen vs led wiring differences in harness.

Would the base be easier to tap into with halogen rear lights, or would it still have the same voltage/amp draw problem messing with computer and need the converter?

info Base folks could use as Ford say no tow package for you.

I think the Ford trailer light accessory will solve most of these issues. Just need one here to lay it out. Stay tuned…
