Will the automatic have the auto engine shut off? I’m sure you get used to it but borrowed my neighbors F150 tonight and man it’s a nuisance. And I hate that you can’t turn it off by default.

Uh, welcome?
Honestly, never even thought about it. Mustangs don’t have it and my other cars are older so it’s kinda a foreign concept. I wish I could keep it that way.

ps - I did do a quick search but nothing jumped out at me.

You never get used to it... but there is the eliminator that @TripleB pointed out. I can see how it could be useful in some places, but not where I live.

Per the Owners Manual:
" SWITCHING AUTO-STARTSTOP ON AND OFF The system turns on when you switch the ignition on. Press the button to switch the system off.
Note: OFF illuminates in the switch.
Note: Deactivating the system using the button lasts only one key cycle. Press the button again to switch the system back on.
Note: The system turns off if it detects a malfunction. If the system malfunctions, have your vehicle checked as soon as possible

Not only do the automatics have it, but the manuals do too.

I've driven many rentals with it, after the first "wtf" moment I just ignored it, engine starts up in no time, saves me a bit of $ at the pump, non issue to me. Don't understand why so many people hate this feature, makes no difference in driving the car, at all. But I'm sure you can find ways to disable it, if it's that bothersome. Just don't understand why it's an issue. If I'm not moving, the engine doesn't need to be running?

Thank God I ordered the MT, otherwise this feature would drive me crazy!

If it 100 degrees outside and you are sitting in a car with no a/c on it gets hot quick.

But with the manual, you need to put the gear shifter into neutral, and release the clutch. Keep the clutch in and no issues.
Ya that’s a great answer to a non problem, lmao.
