Its refreshing to see that you recognize how insignificant this "problem" is. I am very eager to get mine. But lets face it, the important stuff is still the important stuff. (Wife and kids healthy, financially secure, relationship with wife, kids, friends going well, etc)

I still get into my 14 year old car and smile. Its like a reliable old friend. It will be bittersweet giving it up.
Yeah, I get what you're going with here... but for some of us (i.e. me) it's not that insignificant. There is certainly a need vs want. If I had a 2nd car that was running just fine, or at least getting the job done, then this would fall into the 'want' category. And yes, I'd just continue to wait patiently.

But there's the other category of 'need'. I'm getting to the point where I need a car. And sure, maybe stupidly by me, I made life choices because I was expecting a car in the spring of 2021. But then it became summer 2021 and now it's... maybe fall 2021? But at this rate, could be winter 2022. In fact nobody knows. And that's the frustrating part. If Ford released realistic timelines, accounted for the worst, then people would've been able to make better decisions. Under promise, over deliver. But instead they over promised and are now under delivering. And people like me got caught in that over promise.

So maybe insignificant to you, but not everyone's the same. Sure, can I take Uber's and rely on friends, etc... but that's only going to get me so far. And sure, if it becomes that bad I can go buy whatever car I can find... so it's a balance between first world problems (buying a $45k car built to my exact specifications), and real actual problems. But I wouldn't call it insignificant.

I'm happy that for you it's insignificant, but that doesn't mean it is for everyone.

And yes, healthy family is very important, but that doesn't mean others concerns or issues are insignificant.

I get that for those who actually NEED. new vehicle, delays can be much more than an annoyance.

You have to decide if you get a beater for 8 months or spend perhaps thousands to keep the old car on the road, or maybe even buy a jeep instead.

The funny thing is that those who complain the loudest often have a 2 or 3 year old car in their signature. In other words, those of us who change cars less frequently typically don't care about a 6 month delay. UNLESS that old car starts to cost us money.

All great points. The lack of communication and timeline uncertainty is the biggest issue for everyone regardless of your personal situation. Hard to make life choices without information.

I wish we could all have the vehicle we’ve been patiently waiting for yesterday, but I’m sure some of us will get to a point where priorities change and so will our choices. As for now, following the process of this new vehicle has been a trip!

I am just hoping my 2001 Explorer holds out a few more months so I don't have a ton of expense to keep it going. Its only got 110k miles on it, the tires need replacing, and the O2 sensors cause a check engine issue every couple months but I got through inspection a few months ago when it wasn't going off.

My build date is 7/18, so i should be ok. But if I had to get to the winter the tires would become a problem for sure.

FYI for the group. I called the 800 number yesterday and heard my 6/28 build date had shifted to 7/15 (from 6/14 originally).

You better mean "is the shit" as in "is the greatest" as opposed to "tastes like shit".😁
Definitely the greatest. I’ll also throw in any ice cream with peanut butter 😋

The 2018 Tahoe in my profile is technically my wife's car, and currently the only car in our family of 4. I had a 2008 Saab 9-3 that was on its last legs with all kinds of issues even my local Saab specialist couldn't fix, so it was decided to sell it last year vs letting it depreciate in front of my house. (not knowing used cars would actually increase in value in 2021... and Ford would continue to delay things... if only I could get that damn crystal ball to start working correctly)

not that I needed to clarify, but just to clarify. ;)

AND before that 2018 Tahoe, wife had a 2011 Terrain, but we grew out of that, hence the upgrade.

There's some saying about what happens when you assume... how's that go? Maybe you'll recall... 🤔

Definitely crossing the line here. Peanut butter does not belong in ice cream.
On a burger? Hell yeah! 😋
This is one of my go-to's.
