Just curious if anyone knows how the MIC top handles hail (in terms of how damage resistant it is)?

I live in Colorado and hail is a given here.

I suppose any answer doesn’t really matter…this is just more of a curiosity thing.

However - in that vein does anyone know about a potential car cover that has hail resistant padding? I have to park my car outside 4-6 days at a stretch for work so if there were some kind of protection I could throw on my bronco that’s definitely something I’ll look into as soon as I get it.

thanks for any/all info!

I would be more concerned about the hood than the mic top.
Oh I know I absolutely am. But I’m familiar with what hail does to “normal” cars. Just curious how the MIC will do…

Being another CO resident Im thinking it will hold up better than your average sheet metal aluminum roofs most cars have. The hood- well thats another story.... in the end thats what insurance is for.

Can you get a self healing clear stick on cover of some sort for the hood and roof? Might take out the sting of the hail impacts.

This might sound crazy but these work great. Or if you want to be cheap(er) I live in Colorado too and have hail netting over my garden. If you have a designated parking spot that’s on the side of your house. You could also build a little awning with it, it doubles as a mini sun shade too.

I'd expect the hardtop to be far more impact resistant than a metal roof.

I've seen air mattresses strapped on a car for hail protection, not a terrible idea.

Thats a great idea! Sadly my car is parked out in the open at DIA in the employee lot (no reserved parking)

I’m in Colorado as well. If it’s anything like the Jeep too you have nothing to worry about.
