Anyone seen/hear rumors of a softtop window replacement? Perhaps something from aftermarket that uses a hard piece instead of the soft vinyl?
I'm thinking tempered glass, or polycarbonate would work wonders to solve that wrinkly window piece. And since the 3 window pieces are removeable, replacement should be easy to install (although i'm not sure how hard to manufacture)

Thoughts?

Do you want to retain the ability to lift the back of the soft top?

Would make perfect sense, given that you have to remove the side and rear window panels to put the soft top completely down. I wouldn't be surprised to see this in the aftermarket at some point, but don't know of anyone doing it yet.

I like the idea. I imagine I wouldn't need the tilt feature very often, and when I do, I can deal with it by removing the window pieces. But I would prefer glass windows.

that's a good point. So for people who do, it precludes the side pieces from being rigid.
Just leave them out. Solves the problem. Mine will be in only in winter.

They should make mesh windows so you dont have to take out the panels to lower the top all the way

I am hoping for the same thing as I went with the soft top to get it this year, but wavy looking window is stupid looking. I don’t care about lifting up the back.

I'd like to think I don't care about flipping the back up, but I won't know till I try to load a bunch of crap in there.

Buy extra panels, remove the polyethylene, replace with Plexiglass pop riveted in place - oro Velcro and be able to switch form rigid to soft or to remove rigid when accessing the back

So do the rear side panels HAVE to be removed to lower the top all the way?

I've had my softie BL for about 2 months. As much as I would like something other than the crapy wavey windows, I do find myself raising the back quite often. Pretty much anytime I load anything back there. I'm not sure it's possible, but I'd like to see a different window material and the ability to raise it.

Yes, or I'd assume you'd ruin the windows because they'd likely get creased by being folded down that tightly.

Why not just side window replacement panels that aren't windows at all and just have cloth instead. It'd be a good-sized blind spot, but I can't imagine you can see much out the factory side windows anyway. It'd also be, 2 less portholes for thieves to see your cargo area.
