I'm in for a Badlands. I might have to rethink the Squatch. 300 miles a tank with 35's is gonna suck. I was really hoping for a 400 mile range. But I guess there isn't a place to put a 25-30 gallon tank on a Ranger frame.

Aight first mod will be to make a 30gal fuel tank for a 4-door, and a skid plate to cover it.

2.7l quotes for 22mpg average in a 4x4 f150 (I know it weighs more). 22mpg with a 20gal take is 440 miles, but I know we would all love to reach over 600 with a 30gal tank. ??

Acceptable on the 4 door. Great news to hear. I was worried it would only be 18 like the ranger.

Off topic, but where in Kansas were you heading?
I had a really close call once coming back from Moab and passing Denver on the way to Kansas.

The only ecoboostS I have owned are 2.0’s in escapes. Livernois tunes. Outside temps make the single biggest swing in highway mpg. In very cold temps, 23 mph is the best I’ll see and on the same stretch of road in the summer I’ll get close to 30 mpg.

are the 2.3 and 2.7 similarly affected by outside temps?

Winter gas is also much worse and in general you will get worse mileage during the winter do to viscosity of fluids.

I range about 3mpg difference in my 3.5 eco

Good point.

My current 2011 F-150 XLT, stock tires w/ V8 and 3.55 rearend gets combined 17 miles per gallon.

Viscosity is a game changer.

Currently getting under 9 mpg in my rubicon on 34s. It’s an extra car so mostly short trips but still it’s beyond annoying to be back at the pump in 150 miles.

20 mpg would be awesome. I’d like to run a 93 octane tune if I really could get 50 hp/60 tq out of it. Wonder how that would affect mpg.

I lived in Wichita at the time.

In my experience you get better MPG with higher octane fuel. Plus the better performance, cleaner injectors, etc.
