I will say that the testing seems very “amateur” - too many variables at play… heck, could just be someone who doesn’t know how to drive properly. Who knows.
The Bronco just isn’t very fast. It’s fine. It doesn’t need to be. It was stupid to begin with that everyone was talking about how much faster it was going to be than the Jeep. No one should care. But the excuses for it are getting a little silly. It’s just slow. People just need to figure out if it’s fast enough to merge on the freeway and pull out from a stoplight and give up the rest. No amount of speculation about driver skill, wind speed, or Earth’s rotation is going to make a 5000 pound rectangle with 330HP quick.

It’s not the engine! It’s not the transmission! It’s 5,256lbs! C’mon guys. How many times are we going to do this?
Yes it is. You are wrong...

Thanks but no thanks! This is a pointless video and I'm not pressing play. If I wanted to drag race I would order the new GT500....

Merging on the freeway yes pulling out in traffic no way.

Drag race is useless to me beyond sheer entertainment value.

4+ hours of driving at the Texas Rodeo was all I needed to see the true value of the Bronco. Now please send me a VIN Ford!

There's still thousands of 92 Escorts on the road. Merging iant exactly the death sentence you're making it out to be lol

Although I'd certainly prefer to go fast than slow, but there's so many cars on the road that are probably running 8+ seconds to 60 it's literally nothing to worry about.
It’s not merging I’m pretty confident it can merge well as it’s moving the boost is built. It is say pulling on to a 45mph speed limit road with moderate traffic from a dead stop.

IAt some point you’ll be in a situation where you have to pull out into traffic. To me it lacks the confidence to get me out of some situations safely. I live in a moderate sized city and sometimes you have to just go or you’ll never get out.
So you're not going to buy a vehicle that lacks the confidence to get you out of situations safely, are you? Sounds like a new addition to the "why I canceled" thread.

I’m not cancelling 😈 You won’t see it on eBay either.

Thanks for the discussion all!

It might not be all that quick but wait for the off-road vid tomorrow ;)

Car & Driver does excellent testing but keep in mind it’s the best BEST case scenario often involving a prepped race surface, sea level, a skinny driver, no gas etc. They’ll even do stuff like neutral drops to get the best possible times!

We do repeat our tests several times off camera to make sure they’re consistent. we call it “real world testing” and often being at 6,000 feet it will typically be between 1-1.5 seconds off the sea level times. And that’s before you factor in the fact we live off bagels and McDonalds and might be a little chunkier than an ideal racing driver ;)
Put it on the dyno, let's find out the truth to what is happening with the 2.7, because the F-150 was a damn rocketship by comparison.

Do you know what doesn't change with altitude??? The output of an electric motor. That's a huge game changer 6,000'+ ASL.

Plus 35” tires and crazy soft suspension and shift points to accommodate all that and mile high elevation. Get a 2dr big bend with sport mode at sea level if you really want to drag race a bronco. This is so dumb.

You should watch the TFL videos that illustrate how terrible EV range is at altitude.
