Who cares? Does it matter? No. Auto pundits judge everything by 0-60 times. Most don't know theirs asses from a hole in the ground. Want 0-60? Buy a Tesla. Want a fun, go anywhere truck with a real internal combustion engine. Buy a Bronco.

4dr FE weighs the same as 4dr 4x4 2.7 F-150
Actually, the F-150's curb weight varies from 4,069 to 5,697 pounds, depending on the size of the engine, cab and bed.

Where is that skinny Waldo dude who decided to get a 2-door jl with literally nothing over a 2 door bronco with way more for same price..:cautious:
🙋‍♂️ You found him. And how has your summer of off-roading been in your new Bronco ;)

In all seriousness folks we’ve tried different modes, different 4x4 settings, traction settings and look: it’s a 5,000 lb + vehicle on 35’s with 330 HP. No driver mod or mode or 4x4 setting is really going to have that big of a difference. It’s not exactly fighting for traction in a straight line in 2wd with tires wider than nebraska, at least not at our elevation.

Stay tuned for the off-road vid, that’ll be one to watch tomorrow. I wasn’t for the drag race but we’ve received an ungodly number of requests so there ya have it. -Tommy (skinny Waldo dude)

It may not be identically similar, but anyone that knows how speed and drag racing works knows that the 4.7 should give it a numerical advantage. Especially for launch torque something in the transmission has been tuned to retard performance. It's not the engine and its most certainly not the gear ratio at 4.7 that should snap your neck back most muscle car era cars run 3.73 and 4.10's. And in Jeep land going up to a higher gear like a 4.85 or a 5.13 to run larger tires you will feel every bit of that but torque.
A vehicles 0-60 time is made up of every little smallest detail of the vehicle. Diff gearing matters, obviously but it matters equally as much as the trans gearing along with rotating mass that you have to accelerate.

Anything with a GM th350, 4l80 or any number of old school auto's will have a first gear around 2.50:1. A powerglide is normally lower than 2:1. The Bronco with the 10R60 has a first gear of 4.71:1.

Launching something with a powerglide with a 4.70 rear end is like launching a bronco in 4th gear. If your vehicle weight, rotating mass and power are able to handle that then its fine and you'll be quick. The bronco has none of those things working for it.

anyone that knows how speed and drag racing works
I have not seen anyone here yet use any common sense related to drag racing. If there was there would no question as to why a Sasquatch bronco lost a race to anything.

Irrelevant to the Bronco purpose. Some more suggested tests outside of what the vehicle is made for:

1. Miata vs Civic in off road rock crawling competition
2. Best two seater for large family trips
3. Drag racing Corvette vs Mustang, in reverse gears

Does it feel like there's a lot of torque management going on in lower gears? Any word from 5* on tuning that out?
I think a lot of concern comes with tuning and the 10R60. I believe it’s only rated to handle 400TQ

I totally agree, Im not taking this test as gospel... but theres quite a span of acceleration results out there, none as impressive as we would have hoped based on other ford products with the same engine, even after accounting for the 500lb handicap. I mean, the lincoln nautilus manages a ~6sec 0-60 with the engine at 4500lbs. and thats a FWD bias platform!

maybe its gearing? but I assume the bronco still hits 60 in 2nd gear? Edit: apparently its actually 4th gear... wow. ok then...

in any case, theres a lot of smoke, and Id like to drive one to make sure there isnt actually fire behind it all.

I wont be happy with a slow car.
60 happens in 4th gear? Wow.

Meh, I wasn’t overly surprised by the results. I don’t understand why we’re seeing all these videos of drag races against them - Pretty sure none of us bought this to drag race them.

Does that f150 have 4.70 diff ratios? How about 35in tall tires on 17in wheels?

The answer is no, so it's not evenly remotely similar.
Both the F-150 and the Bronco share the 2.7L 325-hp with 400ft/lbs and the 10-speed automatic.

Assuming that the previous poster was correct, and the F-150 has a curb weight of 5,270 lb with a 6.1 second 0-60 time and 14.7 second 1/4 mile time.

A stock 2 Door OBX Bronco should smoke that F-150, because you can't tell me that the stock OBX 255/70R18's are holding it back significantly compared to the 245/70R17, especially when the OBX is either running 3.73 or 4.27 gears. Additionally, at 4,500 lb, the OBX is over 500 lbs lighter. Yet, there isn't any evidence that a stock OBX 2 door is even remotely that fast.

The physics just don't make ANY sense on that match-up.

I still could care less about the numbers. My Bronco is going to replace 2 of my vehicles and be my daily driver for a 80 mile round trip for the next 3 years. I specifically choose a Basesquatch 2 door with the 2.7- lightest platform for performance on and off road. It has to keep up with traffic- that means taking off at stop signs, lights and merging into traffic. So I believe that's what the rest of us who are asking about this is concerned about. I have not driven any new Bronco so can't comment further than that so I read the posts.

This video is trash…. They drag race while the bronco is in 2 high with traction control on… it’s for the views and to make FCA happy. Like I said trash.
It would be fun to see it in 4 low, traction control disabled, baja mode, with the lockers off and sway bar disconnected to help weight transfer to the rear wheels. Sure, it would max out at around 60 MPH, but it's a race to 60, isn't it??? LOL.

I have not seen any performance metrics for really any other build combinations for the bronco so I am not gonna comment on it. I will suggest that the trim, diffs, tires, and sasquatch option will heavily impact acceleration performance in the bronco.

Actually I read everything but I really don't care about 0-60. My 94 302 was a dog in acceleration but I still loved that truck. I just think it's funny that so many do.
