My brother took out a Ranger. He said it was gutless. ?
I mean if you're used to something overpowered... yeah

The Ranger is the 2nd quickest midsize truck. Only the Colorado V6 beats it.

Not true, Ranger is the fastest mid size.

I just compared the 2.3 Ranger to the 2.3 Bronco, and... Wow. Why is the Bronco a quarter of a ton heavier than a pickup?

Am I reading that right, base 4 door is only 180 lbs more than 2 door?
i read it as 600 lbs in difference between 2 door and 4 door

I think the Ranger does quarter mile in 15 seconds and 0-60 in about 6.5. Not bad for a 2.3 turbo 4500 pound pickup. With a mild tune 14 second quarter and 0-60 in 5 second range which is similar to what my old 350Z did

Inner cage would be my guess. Also the bumpers may be heavier

That doesn’t sound great for a 2.3L.
To be honest, I expect it will be more than fine. With the (1st gen) 2.7 in my truck, the biggest thing is getting the rear tires to hookup, so with the better weight distribution of the bronco I suspect it’ll still be pretty quick.

plus, my f-150 has a curb weight not too far off the heaviest ranger, so I suspect that either the 2.3 or the 2.7 will be pretty quick. Especially with those rear gears (The 2.3 manual gets 4.46 gears, instead of the 3.37s of the auto)

long story short, I’m okay with the weight because it sounds like it mostly went in to durability, and with more weight over the rear wheels than the f-150 or the ranger it should still be pretty spry with either engine.

I have the 3.5 ecoboost in my truck, but have heard great things about 2.7. Haven’t spoken to anyone about the ranger 2.3.

Looking at the weights and dimensions posted, it's about the same size and weight as my current 4Runner. I'd consider the 4Runner under powered but adequate. The Bronco will have 40 more hp and over 120 ftlb more torque, so I think I'll be pleased with it. I nice 93 octane tune should wake it up too.

Maybe I'm missing something. 2.3 man "stripped" 2 door is 4319, 4 door, 4499?, No??
I agree, it should be more like 600 lbs........

lol. Well the only ones that a relevant are the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/Canyon. So 4 technically. The Frontier will be relevant again next year and that will last a few years at least

Why is there 2 sets of weight ranges for the 2.3?
The way I read it goes manual/auto, from stripped to fully loaded.
