With the Ranger 2.3L you remove the left front wheel/tire for easier access to the filter. Would that work for the Bronco also?

Thanks! Hope you put out a 2.7L Bronco oil change video, too. Oh, and I think a "go ahead" counter would have been right up there with the "alright" counter! 🤣

Thanks for the tip, interested to see what they say. I was thinking that on a hoist the wheels were lower and if doing it on level ground, it would probably be even more cramped!

You bet brother. Disclaimer: I don't change my own oil anymore. Too old, too lazy now. I did watch the Ford tech do it, and off came the left front tire. He was able to reach right in there to grab the filter.

Messy access to oil filter, not unlike the GT350. You get used to it after the first 2 changes.

so, is this confirmation that the owner's manual is incorrect in speccing 7 quart oil capacity instead of 6 quarts?

No, no, no, no, NO! Stop spreading this mis-information.

This has been incorrect information since the magazine rags blatantly f-d up the 2019 Ranger oil change info and has since been REDACTED.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE WHEEL TO ACCESS THE OIL FILTER ON RANGER.

If you were keen on a quick search, i've outlined the process on Ranger. Bronco is the same.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/changing-your-own-oil.13228/page-7#post-484155

I have also outlined simple things you can do to improve your oil change experience and make it even easier. I also document the massive laundry list of tools needed (all 4!).

I like that funnel with that screws into where the oil cap goes.

I dont know what will be worse -
Jacking up the car and taking off the badlands skidplate.
Jacking up the car and taking off a wheel.

constantly un ugga dugga and ugga dugga the crap out of all my wheel lug nuts or even the first half and a trq wrench for the install might not be desirable. Depends on if the lug nuts have that stupid chrome cap over them.
What if you just, gasp!, turned the steering wheel hard right?

I can change the oil on Ranger without a jack, lift, jack stands, or more than 4 simple tools and 1 blue paper towel. Bronco has even more ground clearance.

You'll be fine.

I really enjoyed doing oil changes on my VWs. The dealer that I got our 2.3L is nearly 40 minutes away. I’d happily do them myself - but, I was under the impression for warranty reasons it had to be handled by them. I’ve never owned a brand new vehicle before. Can I just keep records (and use Motul and not Motorcraft) under an extended warranty?
