AR | BAM BYODR

Accessory #2 for production is the BAM (Billet Aluminum Modular) BYODR. This component will be designed and produced concurrently with the CALL SIGN and both are planned to be made available for SEMA. This one is going to be super fun! With the devices you would be capable of mounting in this area, it's going to be a rugged piece of kit. Comms, smart phone, iPad, radar detector, GoPro ... if it fits, it ships. The community will absolutely drive the accessories that can be adapted to this modular rail system. Being a Veteran, I totally want picatinny sections with laser annealed station markings and some nice topo details. Totally saucy.

List your desires for mount adapters below and they will go on the whiteboard for development. Renderings and specs to come very soon!
Count me in once it's developed please...

Like Ford's original M-Lok design?

Bronco_4dr_Dash_Rail.jpg
Yes, that is what I was describing. That is sleek and streamlined.
But I like where he is going with this, so I am very much still interested!
With any design, it is still just a single 1/4"-20 threaded insert available to mount this to. Will that be enough? Hope so...

Is anyone else totally confused as to why they only built in one mounting point (directly in the middle) for this rail system and not two? Even if the two points are close together in the middle, it would still eliminate its ability to rotate around the attachment point. Would it have killed them to add hard mounting points on the outboard ends to lock it down with 3 attachment points?

Just seems odd...

Pretty sure it was design-locked and someone at Ford said "hey we should make a rail" so they 3D printed one for show. Then they pawned off the job to 4WP.

Agreed. I was quite puzzled, looking for outboard mounting locations. I’m working with what we have without being invasive and adding new holes into a perfectly good dash.

Do what Ford (and now 4WP) are doing: feet on each end and bow it out.

Oh and sorry if my posts seem critical. For the record I think it looks awesome. đź‘Ť

Yes. The L/R mounts will be designed tomorrow. These are just sneak peek renderings.

You going to CNC this out of your carbon material? Anti glare. Probably expensive. But awesome looking.
Edit: and super rigid.

I’ve thought about producing the L&R supports in 3D printed carbon fiber. The rails would be machined billet aluminum. To speed the process along, though, the initial batch will be 100% billet aluminum.
