Why in the world are the Ford Accessory mud flaps $450 a pair? $900 to dress my Bronco in branded mud flaps at all 4 corners? Also, anyone know why they are different depending on whether the vehicle has rock rails? I can see the front pair being different, but why the rear set?

And yes - I am considering buying $900 worth of mud flaps to find out exactly why they are worth $900. As a hedge, I bought 2 pair of Plasticolor Yosemite Sam "Back Off" flaps off ebay. I like the road runner ones too, but road runner is too much Dodge, which is too much Jeep. :) I think Yosemite Sam is a Bronco person - more than whomever priced mud flaps at $450 per set.

Thoughts? Flames? I welcome all!

Yosemite Sam is awesome, I think the lore and heritage of that flap does align well with the essence of Bronco. I know that Plasticolor flaps (all types, not just Yosemite Sam) have been tops in the marketplace for durability, they are actually fiberglass reinforced and they don't crack or break in freezing weather.

If it helps, the can be found for $350... yes the are much nicer than the molded $50 ones, yes they have a version that works with rock rails, yes the are longer for big tires, yes the lower part slides out for off roading..... yes I bought them for the wet northwest, yeah, they are probably overpriced

the manufacturer (gatorsomething) said that by January they will offer their versions, w/o branding, for less money. Remains to be seen how much less. I could not care less if it says Bronco on there, would actually prefer just black so they kind of just disappear. I'm not driving a semi here, where I'd chrome them 🙃

I am OP - I have a set of plasticolor yosemite sam flaps on my Bronco II, bought flaps from Jamesway and installed in 1990, still look good.

Thanks - was looking for someone who owned them. Do they fit well, are they effective at deflecting road trash? Ultimate question - if you bought another Bronco, would you buy them?

I haven't put them on, Bronco#1 will be here in 2 weeks. I am confident they will do their job well based on the construction. Once I see the fit, and it looks OK, I will order a set for Bronco #2 due in November. They have super stout brackets and weigh over 4lbs each

Thanks for the feedback. If they are good solid parts, easy to install, and protect the panels then they may be worth the $$$.

Those are Gatorback brand flaps. You pay for the brand name. No aftermarket yet. I experienced the same with my Aviator. They were a little cheaper though at about $300 for both front and rear. They are a nice heavy flap, but a lot of profit there for sure.

I get that official Ford accessories are going to be on the high side but $450 for a pair of nylon mud flaps?!? I feel like the accessories for the Bronco are overpriced to a greater extent than normal. I don't know, maybe I'm getting too old.
