Different people have different tastes

I like them. Black wheels make tires look dirty and are on everything. Silver/chrome can look good but also really common place. Bronze/gold works with a lot of colors, pulls in a lot of attention, and I think look good most of the time

I had bronze wheels on my LX so I might be biased:

I know people have different tastes, but when did the bronze fad start? I haven't heard of it, or seen them in my part of Florida. This forum is the only place I've heard of it. Everyone here is pretty much going with black wheels.

Hmm, I knew of a few Raptors that had bronze wheels when I bought my 2013 Raptor new. Toyota truck owners have been on the bronze train for a while

Oh my husband just reported to me that he saw bronze wheels on a truck in Gainesville this week. I guess North Florida is moving into the trend now.

As wheels got bigger over the years, the switch to black made them look less huge, as well as looking good on lighter car colors like white which became more popular. Then , euros and exotics embraced it and it was on. They don’t show brake dust as much which is a bonus. I personally never bought black wheels but I do like them in matte finish as well as Matte Gray, bronze, even gold. Subaru rally cars had gold wheels for many years and I’ve had a few STis which you could get with gold BBS wheels from 04-10. They look good but I always went with silver more low key.

Just posted this in another thread but probably more appropriate here…

So this is going to be my first car that i am getting my own custom wheels. Getting the SAS on my BL which has a +30 offset. From what I have read online, it is advised to stay within +\-5mm of the factory offset. Im planning on sticking with the 17x8.5 maybe 17x9. If thats true then I have to say options feel pretty limited … am I overthinking or just not looking in the right places?
17x8.5 should give you tons of options.

I’ve got the same wheels for my FE. Could you Post a few more pictures? What offset?
The shop that installed the wheels posted pis on their Instagram.
Let me know if you want any other pics and I'll take them.
The Method wheels are 0 offset.

Can someone explain where the bronze wheel fad came from? I do not get it. Legit question.
90s rally racing. The most iconic use probably being Subarus in 'World Rally Blue' with yellow liveries and bronze wheels.

That's why I love them, anyway.
