a dealership that sells 2200+ new fords per year is always going to get a bigger allocation than the dealer that sells 300 new Fords per year. Precisely why I went with a larger dealership and will pay MSRP.

whether it's right or wrong it's the way business is conducted.

Do you feel better now that you have schooled us on how allocations work? I want to thank you. But if you would would read a little more you'll find there's more to this screwing Ford gave us than just allocations. Promises made, promises broke is not the way any company should do business.

Update: Old "Nodrama' was banned. For what I don't know, but I don't miss the knucklehead at all. :)

Granger holds what, 1% of the total reservations? With 3,000 dealerships, I think in any other industry you would be rewarded with that kind of success and not punished.

Let's say MAP can crank out 150,000 units in 2022 (way more than remaining reservations). At 200 allocations for MY22:
200/150,000 = .001333.

The dealership who has attracted the most Bronco customers, has actual name match, and has been transparent with the business (no surprise ADM mess upon delivery) Ford is dedicating 0.13% of their production.

Total insanity

nah I kicked one larger dealer to the curb for another large dealer that did better then MSRP. I would like to know what corporate mega group or groups feels they lost allocation over a couple small time short term dealers then pushed back to Ford.
researching the dealer is a vitally important part of the Bronco reserving/ordering/waiting process.

Sure, but kind of unfair to say to "hey this is how we're going to allocate things" and then change the rules later once people made choices and acted upon the first set of rules. I'm sure this was the plan all along for MY22 (my own theory is that they didn't anticipate not being able to fulfill all reservations in MY21), but it's really not unreasonable for people to be upset because Ford isn't doing what they said they would do. The difference between MSRP and what Granger, Chapman, Stephens, etc. are charging is several thousand dollars in most cases.

That is all great and yes due diligence on a large purchase is ideal, but the way the goal posts move get moved after the fact is what is at issue. Those are outside your control.

I'm not "schooling" anyone. I made a different choice regarding reserving a Bronco. Don't take your frustrations out on me, I don't work at Ford.

I agree with you. We live in a world where NOBODY keeps their word anymore.

Dude, you have a lot of catching up to do.

People did do their research. I personally called every Ford dealership within 100 miles. None of them would discuss pricing. Only one even returned my phone call. That's why I and many others on this forum went with small dealerships that actually put their deal in writing, returned our calls and emails, and answered all our questions about the Bronco and the process.

So you landed on the unicorn big dealership that isn't charging you a five-figure markup and has the allocation to get you a Bronco in a timely manner. Good for you. Try not to hurt yourself reaching around to pat yourself on the back. But your gloating and "I told you so" attitude is not welcome here. It's really very childish. There are better ways to make yourself feel good about yourself, and they are not at the cost of others' displeasure. Maybe pour yourself a shot and go watch some porn.

My dealer told me to go buy a Jeep. I think they are as frustrated as we are.

For the money of a loaded up bronco, why not just get one of these?

This entire thing is an excuse by Ford to cover up the fact they can’t meet the order/ reservation builds and placate the big dealers who are crying over not being able to have stock Broncos on their lots in the numbers they want. Dealer allocations are for stock or special editions. Customer orders have NEVER been incorporated in dealer allotment. Dealers request a certain number of F 150 trucks. Ford tells them “ in order to get the F 150 allotment, you will need to accept 20 Escapes, 25 Explorers, and 30 Mustangs”. Dealer agrees. The dealer has fifty F 150 trucks on the lot. I want one, but they don’t have an F 150 that meets my needs. So I place an order. No problem. Broncos were ALL customer orders, NOT dealer allotments. They are not “ special editions, ex: GT 500, MACH 1”. This allotment ruling is nothing but a scam. Shame on Ford.

I don't doubt that at all Keith. I'd sure they are hesitant to speak up for fear of Ford's wrath. My small town Ford dealer is caught up in Ford's lies also.

In case anyone's been waiting for an answer:
@mrlevine Fill your Bronco reservation orders ahead of allocations. We’ve already waited 15 months. Stop punishing your customers. #reservationsoverallocations
His answer tells me they just don't care.

in case he deletes his tweet, here's what it says:

Mike Levine
Replying to @robtraut and @KogodBiz
That’s exactly the plan for more than 98% of customers that didn’t place orders with a small dealer that created a special deal to attract a large number of orders.
I went with a smaller deal solely because they had better communication and I can text my salesman anytime and get a response. I emailed them and a bigger dealer in my area, never heard back from the bigger dealer, but had an email, phone call and text within 10 minutes from the smaller dealer and I liked that. They are charging MSRP, no discounts, no ad on and now I'm just hoping it doesn't bite me in the butt.

exactly, and Ford set it up so we couldn’t even really do due diligence. Assigned us a dealer. Originally you could only change once. And now that my order is in, im stuck with the dealer even though my order is 99 waiting to be resubmitted.
Make no mistake, Ford created this miserable situation

The issue is fords communication. I wish they would be honest about it.

Ford had their obstacles, yes, and its about the worse time to try to bring such a complicated product to market due to the state of the world.

Dealers are frustrated because their customers are coming down on them with the hammer about when they are going to get their orders but their hands are tied. Lets not forget that dealers are businesses. A lot of them are barely getting by as it is. One local dealer here usually has 400 cars, they have 15 on the lot now and a skeleton crew working. You have to have some sympathy for them. They are on the verge of shutting down, they see a product that is EXTREMELY desirable so they mark it up and sell it.

If you owned a beanie baby store that sold nothing but beanie babies, you had a bunch of people order them but you could not fill anyones orders because of a shortage. You were about to go out of business and all of a sudden you get 2 beanie babies in stock and have 100 people that want them. You sure as hell are going to see what you can get for them. Or you could sell the beanie babies to 2 reservation holders at MSRP, then close your doors. I imagine there is some level of desperation here.

Not saying it is right either way but this is how the market works. Unless the dealer has contractual obligations, they are doing nothing illegal. A little crappy on their part, probably, but remember these are car salespeople. They aren't known for their integrity.

I've not expected him to say anything different. It is unthinkable that Ford thinks it is fine for someone to place a reservation in 2020, an order in the spring of 2021, <repeat the steps of updating their order for 4 more years>, and then be happy that their Bronco is finally delivered in 2025.

What I would like to know is how he'll walk back the statement that those that have an order can transfer to another dealer and retain their original reservation timestamp. As many will attest, that isn't true. Ford Customer Service is not allowing transfer of reservations.

Without the option to transfer, existing reservation holders either stay in line at their current dealer and wait or get at the end of the line at a new dealer.
