Couldn't agree more with the article. It's got a cult following for a reason even despite how long it's been out of production. Can't wait until 2020 and can't believe we're going to finally see new Broncos on the road (and off road)!

As it stands right now, I've decided to put the considerable sum I have accumulated since 1999 in my exclusively Bronco bank account into a build of my '66 U15 that I bought in 1999 and drove daily until I quit my second job in 2004. Frankly, I just can't see the 2020 Bronco being a vehicle I would like more than my '66, and I would have to like it considerably more to switch my loyalty to the 2020. But I'll be open-minded about it until the day I havta pay big bucks for initiating the build...

I just hope that Ford stays true to what the Bronco was initially. I think Jeep has done a good job overall. Toyota however I don't think did a very good job with the FJ Cruiser compared to the original FJ40.

OJ, I agree with your entire posting--the new Bronco needs to be an Early Bronco with 4-wheel discs, ABS, 5-speeds-or-more floor-shifted manual transmissions, the truck version of the Mustang's 5.0 DOHC 4-valve TiVCT direct-&-port fuel injection, and high-pinion nine-inchers front and rear--AT THE VERY MINIMUM. Options could include ARB Air Lockers and Atlas transfer cases. I'm OK with the Dana 20 as the standard transfer case.

Yes, Jeep has done a good job overall DESPITE being a division of Fiat-Chrysler...

And yes, Toyota blew it with the FJ40. The old FJ was such an enviable vehicle--how could Toyota possibly fuck that up?? Well, they found a way...

This new Bronco won't have a V8 option. The Raptor doesn't even have a V8. Whatever the Ranger has for engines is what I imagine the Bronco will have. I also would not hold my breath for a manual transmission option.
