Anyone have their order with Mac Haik in Georgetown? I've been struggling with them, have had basically radio silence since placing the order in February, and the 2 times I have had luck getting someone on the phone, they have zero answers or insights they can give me. I also have a Lightning reservation with them, but thinking about switching dealers for the Lightning given the less than ideal experience with the Bronco (Badlands squatch + MIC + high package + tow.) Also want to know if switching my Bronco order is even possible, and if it is, is there risk of further delay.

Unfortunately, you can't change dealer on the Bronco this late into the game. Best approach (if you haven't already) is to ask to speak with the sales manager and explain your concerns. Might even help mentioning you are "thinking of moving the Lightning reservation". That being said, if you are still waiting on a VIN really the only information that can provide to you is where you are on their allocation list and how many they are to be getting.

Yep, still waiting for a VIN. Appreciate the feedback and will reach out to their sales manager!

I am reserved through Mac Haik GT as well, but I haven't been disappointed with their involvement really (came in with low expectations). I've mainly dealt with Shaun Mulligan from their Internet Sales office. He called me like an hour after I made a reservation to convert the order (early March), we spoke a few times on the build out and what the delayed options would be. After that, I received a separate email from Duane Harris who is the General Manager asking for any feedback on their handling, which was boilerplate, but nice to have his contact info.

In April, Shaun both called and texted me to ask if I wanted to change my order from a painted mod to a MIC top, and I said I'd wait on the mod - and then when the June email dropped with the '23 delay, I called him first to covert my order to a soft top. He gave me some good advice that helped me decide to switch but I got the impression that they don't necessarily know Ford's commodity roulette any better than we do.

I haven't asked him where I am in their allocation listing, but since I reserved the last week of February I assume I am pretty far back. He did say switched to a soft top could push me forward substantially - but I am still constrained like you are with a Badlands / Squatch / Tow / 2.7 / High. My hope is that I get it sometime before Spring '22. If you want your Bronco before that, it's really going to depend on when you reserved and if you want to give up that MIC as that is by far the biggest supply issue right now. My Priority Code is still '19' so <shrug> ...

@Mr_Scoutmaster I reserved on July 17 and placed the order when they called me (for the first time) on Feb 21. I've been dealing with Charity over at Mac Haik and she hasn't been helpful at all. When the email came out about the top she said she wouldn't recommend change from MIC to soft top because she was afraid that it would mess up my order. No idea what my priority code is, can't get any questions answered about most things. Unfortunately, they also pinned me to Charity for my Lightning order as well.

@cricex maybe shoot the internet sales rep Shaun an email - [email protected] . I can't say that Charity is wrong here though because you have a July 17 reservation, and changing might actually mess up a MIC that is currently on its way to the MAP. I am so much further down the barrel that it was easier to assess what a top change would do.

With the issues we are seeing with the current MIC tops being defective i dont think we will see very many builds with MIC now. this really has turned into a shit show.

@Sarconus I agree 100% - the MICs seem to be completely hit or miss on quality. It has reassured me that switching to a soft top and looking at third party tops later is probably for the best, even if it comes out to be a bit more $ in the end. Everyone has different needs, but I am glad to live here in Central Tx where the weather can support that decision.

@Mr_Scoutmaster yea but when spending 50K+ on a new vehicle stuff like this shouldn't happen. This is something that should have been worked on even before covid. You can only blame it on covid for so long.

Duane Harris is the General Manager at Mac Haik. I would suggest you talk to him. I just ordered an F-250 through Mac Haik. I had issues with two other dealers locally when trying to place an order. I have bought 5 vehicles (now 6) through them, but I did order my Bronco through Bob Utter.

I'm working with Shaun and Greg at Mac Haik GT. My Big Bend is currently "in transit", actually just texted them to get a status update since it should be here between 7/16 and 7/22. I've actually had a great experience with them so far. Yes, they could be a bit better about communication, that I totally agree with. But, every time I text them (which has been weekly lately), they respond back within a few hours with information or some kind of update. I think what helped me in my situation was my build. It's pretty basic so I didn't have any criteria that caused delays. Here is what I'm getting:
Big Bed
2.3L
Soft Top
Mid Package
No Tow
So, I think keeping that in mind has helped me get through this a bit faster. Hang in there and if I were you I'd ask them for some free swag (they have it). Plus, going in person and chatting with the GM would be helpful too.

Good luck!!

Quick update and shout out to Greg and Shaun at Mac Haik GT! I'm SEVEN days away from the Big Bend hitting Georgetown. A friend told me to check out Carvana for my trade and they offered me a pretty tempting deal, but I wanted to see if Mac Haik could either match or beat it. Took my car in to get it checked out by Greg. Luckily I caught both of them there that day. Not only were they super friendly, but they took the time to answer all of my questions. Greg took my car back and within 15 minutes I had a quote that beat out Carvana. Since I wasn't ready to make the trade that day, he assured me that my quote would remain the same up to the day my BB arrives. Plus, Shaun went over how we can use the Ford Rewards Points towards accessories and mentioned that depending on what I get, they either might have it in stock (they are the largest parts department in the area), or they would deliver it very soon. Finally, because I'm so damn anxious to get my BB, Greg pulled up their system and shared what the tracker looks like with me. Ford's site is okay, but the inner workings are amazing. Extremely accurate and he told me exactly where the BB is in process (it was in IL on that day). I've never had doubts about these guys. Mac Haik has a good reputation, but this experience sealed the deal for me. I'm confident that they are going to continue to provide excellent service.

One more thing to note: If you are crazy like me and want to be the first person to take off all the plastic and do the prep, then make sure your dealer removes the outer plastic lining as soon as humanly possible. They shared that if it sits too long with the plastic wrap it can leave an impression because of the heat.

Anyway, GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!!
