For any of you guys that enjoy winter wheeling, definitely something to speak up about. I emailed my senator this morning.

This is copied from a post by Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association. It passed the Michigan house and will be going to the Senate. If this impacts you, it's time to act.

So there have been plenty of comments both for and against House Bill 4535. I think the biggest mis-understanding has been how big of and affect it will actually have on our trail system. Sportsman, hunters, and property owners, take a look at the massive affect this bill will have on the trails. Lower peninsula ORV/Motorcycle Trails affected by HB 4535

It looks like it passed the house the 19th by a wide margin. I did send a letter to my representative. The route it closes here by my cabin rarely has snow until January and often isn’t rideable by snowmobile much of the year anyway. It’s interesting, I always bypass the groomed areas, I thought it was already a regulation to stay off groomed trails. Good news on the east side, the seasonal roads are pretty fun to wheel when there is snow anyway. We don’t get near as much as you west siders 🥶

Legally yes, you’re supposed to stay off the groomed trails, but now the mixed used trails will be off limits. Just think it’s bullshit that the sleds get catered to. They already have their own routes that sit idle all summer long, now they’re taking more away from us. Thanks for reaching out.
