Hey y'all! I'm out in the Asheville area and really trying to find more options for off-roading or even just some more remote dirt/gravel trails. I've done Bent Creek and Hall Top Road Fire Tower but I don't quite feel confident enough to run hurricane solo. (lacking recovery gear currently). Any suggestions for trails of easy to easy/moderate in WNC? I'm down to go out towards Banner Elk/Boone or Knoxville (2 hour drive time is about my cut off)

I’ve been to Patriot a few times. It’s only open on the weekends but it’s a blast if u are looking for easy trails. If you are an easily offended liberal don’t go, Joel the owner is as conservative and outspoken as they come, but really great guy, and great host.

Lake Houser ATV park.
West of Boiling Springs.
Week ends are very busy with a lot of motorcycles and ATV
Monday through Thursday very few people.
Type in Lake Houser ATV park and you will find a lot of info.
20$ for the day.

@MooreNC I second that. Lake houser is a cool spot! I haven't been in a few years but I used to love going out there. Glad to hear it's still up and going.

Moving from Seattle at the end of the summer and starting to become worried about a lack of trails near the Charleston area

@BroncoPVC sadly I don't know that area well at all as I've only been out there a couple times. I will say Charleston is a cool old city with lots to do, just imagine you'd have to do some driving to get to any sort of challenging wheeling other than beach driving.

Lake Houser is for Bikes / ATVs / 4x4 all ok.
Just week ends my experience is a lot more people. During the week few to no people.

Sorry to jump on an old thread but does the “politics” at Patriot raise to the level my husband and I won’t be safe there? (We’re both men)
