Everyone be sure to check out a few events we have coming up and let me know if you know of any other Bronco events so I can post them to the site. Doesn't have to be in the Carolinas just Bronco related or at least Ford related.

We have a Uwharrie drive coming up on June 4th. Wondering if anyone on here would be interested in leading this ride? Just looking for a few people that are familiar with the trails and feel comfortable leading the pack. We will have a few newbies out with us as well so figured it'd be good to get some people that know the trails. I personally haven't been out to Uwharrie since high school so I'd love a refresher on the trails myself.

I can lead one. I've done everything out there in the Bronco except the front side of Daniel, which I do not recommend.

Lots of people will tell you that you can do any trail in a stock vehicle, and most of the trails can be done in one, but not that one.
Most of them can be done in 2WD for the majority of the time, but I put it in 4Hi and just roll on.
I have GMRS and the OnX offroad app, and highly recommend both. The App especially. None of the trail maps you find online are 100% accurate, but close enough. The App is spot-on.
I printed two different ones off the 'Net, put them back to back, laminated it, which is a good start.

Recommended "easy routes":

Wolf's den to Falls Dam, back up the gravel Dutch John Rd. (NOT Dutch John trail), back across Rocky Mtn. Loop to SawMill, looped back to Wolf's den. Easy few hours' ride with a few sections of rock, bypasses as well for most things.

More intermediate/challenging:
Rocky Mtn loop clockwise to the front side of Daniel (couple of minor rocky hill climbs, more challenging rock obstacles at the top. Turn around and go back down it, Continue RML to Slab Pile, back over on Falls Dam to Dickey Bell. Then back out through RML again either direction depending on time/desire to continue.

Dickey Bell has one intermediate-difficult hill climb with several rock ledges and rock gardens, but I did it in mine with no slippage in 4Lo with the SBD and rear locker on, no slipping or crazy jumping. Some rock rash on the underside and bash plates. There are "Bypasses" But I never paid any attention to how much easier they were, as I had my sights set on challenging the hill climb.

@broadicustomworks I’m going to come on the 4th. Will rock rails be necessary? I have them but would rather not take off my step bars (mobility issues).

@RogueSqdn For what it's worth, I have not hit my rock rails yet. I have hit the crossmembers underneath and the skid plates a few times.
I think you will be fine, especially if you stay with a group that stays away from any trail starting with a "D" (Daniel, Dickey Bell, Dutch John).
95% of the trails out there are just fine for most 4X4 vehicles without concern.

@broadicustomworks. Thanks. I’ve been wanting to go to Uwharrie and this is the perfect chance.

I’m running a FE with the stock tires, just had to swap the rails for bars.

@bltfrdtgh if you want me to lead, let me know.
Not sure how many we are expecting or how many different groups.
Might be a good idea if it hasn’t been done is get a list, find out who wants to do what level of trail, go from there.
