Trail Run at Byrd's Adventure Center - Saturday, August 13, 2022
@kodiakisland just confirmed that the next NWA group trail run is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th at Byrd's Adventure Center. Byrd's is located along the Mulberry River within the Ozark National Forest.
Since the date and location are now confirmed, I thought it merited a separate post with more general information and an overview map.
The street address for GPS guidance is 7037 Cass Oark Rd, Ozark, AR 72949.

@kodiakisland and I are planning to arrive the afternoon before on Friday (August 12th) at 3:00 PM to check in and do some preliminary exploration of some of the trails that afternoon/evening, and staying overnight at Byrd's.
On Saturday morning (August 13th) at 8:00 AM, we will be meeting at Byrd's Mulberry Riverfront Restaurant, a charming, friendly restaurant onsite, facing the Mulberry River.
The group trail run is planned to start at approximately 9:30 AM on Saturday morning, driving along a 16-mile, 3.5-hour, scenic, winding trail that ends up at the Oark Cafe at the famous Oark General Store, where we can eat a late lunch or early dinner, depending on timing.
The Oark General Store, listed in the Arkansas Register of Historic Places, was opened in 1890, and has become an attractive destination for both on and off-road travelers due to its location along windy and dramatic Ozark highways. The Store has transitioned from mainly groceries and supplies to a full-service restaurant, serving fresh quality ingredients with a smile. It's a one-of-a-kind, drive-to-eat experience everyone must try.
Others are welcome to join us on Friday afternoon, later Friday night, or with the larger group for the trail run on Saturday morning.
Tent or trailer camping spots are available, and there may be a cabin available as well. Please inquire directly with Byrd's Adventure Center to confirm.
Of course, families are welcome to join.
