Broncos Of The Carolinas

Looking for new trails to run in the WNC area. I have done Old NC 105, Buzzards roost, Hurricane Creek, Bent Creek, and The Pisgah Trails out near Brevard. I am local in Asheville and don't mind driving 2 hours but really want to stick to the more forest service roads or true trails as opposed to OHV parks (nothing against them, just enjoy the quieter trails) Any suggestions?

Found out this morning that Chestnut Mountain rd at Gorges is back open.. haven’t been out there first hand to confirm yet but saw a video and heard from a reliable source today. If you’re unfamiliar it starts out of the back of the rainbow falls parking lot area. I live right around the corner from there about 20 mins and was going to head over sometime later this week and check it out again. Been a while

@V1Rotate have you been out on Chestnut recently? I was thinking about taking the bronco for its first dirt adventure there sometime this next week.

@V1Rotate can confirm. Made my way down to the bridge and back yesterday, decent number of people out, in good shape and lots of fun. The bridge gate is open so it’s possible to keep going. I ran into a guy on his way back from an overnight at the state line.

Hit up the trail this morning. It was a nice little drive for first dirt in the Bronco. Little bit of mud from the storms last night. Just enough to make me look cool on the way home.

@DrunkingtonBear its definitely a fun one. I love the rolling hills at the start. That one sharp turn to go right at the Game grounds is tricky, but trail turn comes in clutch.

@A51Asheville @DrunkingtonBear @BluebroncoNC Bunch of us with NC Bronco Club are headed to Uhwarrie this weekend if anyone is interested.. Meeting at the El Dorado Outpost at 9am and 9pm Thursday though at least Saturday. Come out! There will be a mixed crowd so it’ll get split up into those seeking the more difficult stuff and those looking for an easier time.

Also Blue Ridge Broncos meetup at Windrock August 4th and 5th. I won’t be able to make it until Saturday the 5th - some of us are meeting up in Waynesville (on Sat the 5th that is) at Haywood 209 Cafe to roll out around 7am. Come on out!

@V1Rotate Wish I could have made it. Had just gotten back from a family vacation and caught COVID on the way back. Ugh. I was in no shape for much of anthing until late Sunday. Looking forward to getting out there soon. I'm a complete novice but excited about learning.
