Ford Bronco Enthusiasts in the Virginia, North Carolina and DC areas
Greg Helmick
Hello All,
Has anyone tried to work with dealerships in the northern Virginia area? My reservation is currently with the Ford Dealership in Manassas, VA. I have contacted a couple in the area to see if they were doing any incentives to raise the number of their reservations but have been unsuccessful. My understanding of the allocations for dealers is based on the number of reservations turned into orders and the size of their dealership/sales. I am looking to get a group of people together to try and work with a dealer, like those in Colorado with Granger Ford, the dealership in W.V. and now Texas. Reply back if you are interested.

I am currently reserved with Purvis in Fredericksburg but they want $749 admin fee even with X-plan. I have reached out to Battlefield Ford in Culpeper ($100 x-plan fee but no mention of anything below invoice) and Sheehy Ford of Warrenton (similar unimpressive deal). To their credit both were very responsive but I am leaning very heavily to a transfer to Stephens in West Virginia. $2K swing is very enticing.

@BroncOBX Yeah i reached out Warrenton and the guy was very short and said they are not doing anything, talk to a couple more as well and was surprised at how unhelpful everyone was.

@Greg Helmick When they know they are going to make huge sales, they become assholes. That's ok though, it'll most likely be the only time I ever buy from that dealership because of their attitudes. In fact, there's no guarantee I'll buy from them this time!

Try Madison Ford. besides Stevens and Leonardtown they are the only dealership I've spoken to in this process that has been respectful knowledgeable knows about the forum and willing to work with someone. Nothing official for the group by though at this point.

Not likely. Offering at MSRP, given the number of reservations is already a discount. Larger dealers with larger annual volume are unlikely to negotiate. X-plan is still being offered.

I live in Warrenton and just chatted with Tim. He confirmed that Sheehy will NOT be offering the X-Plan pricing or any incentive. However, they will not go above MSRP. I'd be in on any group plan if you're working it.

@BeachShredder I have a reservation at Sheehy Ford as well. They were going to offer X-Plan, but this is Ford's call, not Sheehy's. Your right, I see no other incentives, by I do think MSRP will be a good offer. That said, Sheehy did treat a close family member with some disrespect this week. I want to give everyone a second chance, so I am going to hold the reservation for now, but I will bring it to their attention. They have hundreds of reservations, so the loss of one wouldn't matter. That said, I am starting to look at options now as plan B. Let me know if anyone finds a good, communicative, respectful dealer. Thanks,

@DetailsMatter Absolutely! I've actually had previous bad experiences with Sheehy's customer service. In fact, when I was helping my daughter buy her first car, we started there...then I got so pissed, we literally drove next door and purchased a Toyota Corolla for her. The Sheehy guy kept blowing up my phone while I was at the Toyota dealership and I finally answered and said, "dude, too late. We've already signed a deal with your competitor next door." Unreal some of these guys.

Okay so over the past couple days i have contacted ten dealerships in VA/MD (Leondardtown, MD and VA - Madison, Chantilly, Fairfax, Sterling, Woodbridge, Leesburg, Springfield, Alexandria and Richmond). The overall result was MSRP and no mark up, for the most part no additional down payment when the window to convert from reservation to order opens, processing fee is cheaper in MD ($499) as opposed to the common $799 in VA, Chantilly had the highest number of reservations at 350 (however, some would not say their numbers or didn't know it). Based on my interaction here are my notes and if there are any car salesman or people that work for a dealership do not be offended. I found it best to ask for the Bronco Specialist or General Manager when calling. One dealership, the salesperson was willing to sell me his house to get the deal, but when i talked with the Bronco Specialist at that dealership, he said they have no incentives right now.

The most personable and friendly dealerships were Madison Ford and Leonardtown (MD) Ford. Although i had a lot of good conversations with most of the dealerships. They all seem to be in the same place as us, looking for details from Ford. Madison is a smaller dealership and has 22, no deposit and $799 processing fee.

However, Leonardtown was willing to put the offer in writing. 1% above Invoice (what the dealership pays) for those with the X plan (since it is not being accepted now) and 3% below MSRP for anyone else. Their processing fee is $499 and they currently have around 40 reservations and climbing. I found @NayNay to be amazing. She is up front and honest and even questioned some of my luxurious choices on my B&P today. Which I appreciated very much, showed honesty in business.

Based on my conversations, i am going to look at moving my reservation to Leonardtown. After that i am going to start working with the salesperson I spoke with (Shameka) and have my order ready when the window opens.

This isn't new news or my news, but @Hagen0201 let me know that Sheehy Ford in Richmond is having a demo on Dec. 3. I spoke with David W. (no clue how to spell his last name and Bronco Specialist for Sheehy Richmond), they will have one Bronco Sport, two door Bronco and a four door Bronco (not sure of specs on the demo vehicles yet) to demo starting around 9/10 am. He said they are going to try and make a big event of it and have a food truck, so expect a crowd. There will also be two Ford Bronco Reps there to help answer questions.

I created a spreedsheet for the multiple builds i created last night. I used an estimated tag and title fee of $350 which is not taxable so shouldn't be included in the calculation for VA tax which is 4.15%. So use your estimated net price and dealership processing fee to calculate taxes and then add taxes, tag and title fee and estimated net price to help figure out the max you would pay (hopefully less if you get a deal).

@Greg Helmick thanks. Oddly I work at Ford and currently own an F150 and my Stang. So yes. Mostly tho I feel everyone's pain and frustration with this too. And thanks for the compliment! Oh Shameka drives a Flex!!

It resembles a hearse in my opinion but extremely comfy to drive in. I think it's her 2md one.

I just switched from Battlefield Ford to Leonardtown. My salesperson has been unresponsive and doesn't provide answers to questions even though he text me and says he will find out. Has done that three times now.

Just made the switch myself to Stephen's In WV. Nice Amtrak ride from Culpeper to Charleston, WV in my future and a splendid drive home from a part of the world I've never been,

I am switching today from Bob Bell ford to Leonardtown ford . I talked to Monica from Leonardtown, she was friendly and very helpful. She sent me the 3% below MSRP offer in a email so i would have it in writing. She also told me about this group and to look up NayNay the resident guru about the new bronco. Thanks monica :)

I reached out to Sheehy Ford, in Richmond, Virginia last week. They had a Bronco event planned for December 3rd. They just found out from Ford that the event has been postponed until Q1 2021. They suspect many other events in the region will be postponed as well. This is a Ford decision, not Sheehy's.

I would like to see one in person. If anyone know of another event that is still happening, please reply. Thanks.

@DetailsMatter just an FYI I was informed that some of these dealerships are lying to stir up interest, reservations, and possible crowds. Just be aware and cautious please.

@NayNay If I find that to be true, it will trigger an immediate change in dealership. I understand the process and expect things to change, but I will not tolerate misleading information. I consider my relationship with a dealer to be a long-term relationship. If there is no trust, there is no relationship.
