Part of me wants to go to VT because it's close but part of me wants to go to Moab because it is almost once in a lifetime.

Theres nothing like offroading in the southwest...very few trees to scratch that new paint.

Vermont will be a great training ground. Think rocks, mud, trees, especially fallen trees. Maxtrax to the rescue in forming a bridge when your set is paired with your Buddy's set. Voila, up and over. Just make sure the boards are not cheap knock-offs. They break!
