New Bronco, rock damage. This is a caution for others, we purchased a new Ford Bronco Black Diamond, Good Friday, the following Tuesday the AC went out. Took it to the dealer and a small rock had flown through the space in the front of the Bronco where the hard license plate will sit (when it arrives), behind the bumper in this spot there are a series of small louvers that open and close to I guess help cool the engine. This small rock went through the space and pierced the exchanger connected to the AC system causing it to fail. Bronco had 416 miles on it. Dealer was very helpful but said it was not a warranty issue because of the rock hitting that small exchanger. It is $1,500 out of pocket parts and labor, I called FORD to ask if they could help and that I thought the louvers being open must have contributed to the rock being able to hit this important component. Amazing how the rugged, offroad ready Bronco had a rock take out the AC system on a normal city street. FYI, FORD corporate just repeated the language in the warranty over the phone and gave me an address to send a letter to FORD consumer affairs. Love the Bronco, extremely disappointed in FORD.
