Central TX Bronco Club

A group based in Central Texas dedicated to sharing and enjoying what the Ford Bronco has to offer.
I’m having a hard time thinking that Maxwell Ford in Austin has this whole Bronco ordering fiasco under control.
I received clouded information over a few phone calls. I decided to visit in person and another member said that what I was told over the phone was incorrect.
I’m being told that I am #284 out of 600 reservations made at the Ford Maxwell Dealership on the “motor mile”.
Couldn’t tell me when I would be called but that when called in, that I would need to be prepared to pay $2500 dollars to solidify my order.
Is anyone else receiving this type of info?
The members reasoning was that dealerships may be faking reservations that would get more Broncos to the dealership so that they could mark the prices up.
Being a serious buyer, I don’t have a problem paying the $2500. I just want to make sure that this is legitimate and that the $2500 would go towards the price of the Bronco.

Yeah the deposits are legit. It will/should go towards your Bronco. It’s just up to you if you want to pay that high of a deposit. If not you’ll have to find and switch to a different dealer that requires a lower deposit. Ford left it up to dealers’ choice as far as additional deposits. A lot of dealers are requiring a $500 deposit, some are sticking with just the original $100, and there have been some reports of dealers requiring $2500. I think I even saw someone post that their dealer wanted a $5000 one...

On another note I’m kinda surprised to see that Maxwell has 600 reservations. Way higher than I was expecting. When did you make your reservation? If you don’t mind me asking

I have a launch day reservation at Maxwell and they want me to come in to convert to an order next week. They didn't mention anything about a deposit though so I just emailed them after seeing your post. The original email they sent stated they have received "hundreds" of reservations but only 150 of those will be built.

I got this email from them ”congratulations your Bronco order is ready to be processed. We need you to be here this upcoming week to sit down and build out the vehicle with my inventory manager. Please bring the deposit for $500 and to help out the process to move faster to the Ford website and start building out the vehicle but without any accessories. You will add the accessories at the store with my inventory manager. ”

I have had a hard time at Maxwell Ford. I have a 7/13 reservation. And no one there can seem to tell me anything of value. My wife made the reservation under her name because we were both spamming the enter button on our computers - and she got in first. When I asked if that reservation can transfer - all I get is an "I think so". or "Dont worry about it." We have different las names. So this is concerning.

@TyGuy40 You should be ok based on the Reservation FAQ mentioning "household":

https://www.ford.com/suvs/bronco/2021/reservation-information/

"Can I make additional reservations and can I transfer my reservation?
Up to two reservations per account. Your reservation number is assigned to you, but can be transferred to a member of your household at time of order placement."
