what does Blend date mean to us in Central Texas? I had an email state 11/8 production date. Yesterday in the Ford tracker switched to “in production” with blend date of 11 10.
appreciate any insights on what to expect now. How long till delivery?
apologies if this topic has been covered, I had pretty much given up on this year, so anything is possible I guess

Blend date is your actual blend of components or aka production date. Depending on QA/QC issues it could ship immediately or be held there for shop work or go to modification. Then shipped by rail. My blend was 9/8. Produced on 9/9 held in mod shop for 17 days and shipped. Picked it up on 10/21. MERRY Christmas!

A blend date is when your body of the vehicle (which has had some assembly already) meets up with your chassis of the vehicle aka the frame (which has also had some assembly already). These two major sections meet up and are fastened together to be referenced as your "blend" date. Normally if all is going well, soon afterwards your vehicle will finish production and hit your modules testing area where the vehicle is put into some testing and checks. Assuming nothing is wrong, doesnt need to be repaired, or you do not have items that require the body shop to apply, like decals, etc. Your vehicle will soon be considered Built and no longer in production awaiting shipment. Normally that process is a few days, but some vehicles are pulled for more inspection, dont pass inspection, or something else happens. God willing, it all goes smooth and vehicle ships...

As for delivery, for us in Central Texas it means usually about 2 to 3 weeks of waiting for the delivery. I have seen faster than this if the rail cars are working quickly and filling up with vehicles and so on. But usually 2 to 3 weeks to arrive to our dealers here in TX. My 4th Ford special order this century and experience with friends at dealers, but yeah, plus or minus.

I received the same email with a build the week of 11/8. Today, my window sticker has 11 10 as well. BL, Sas, High, A51

A build WEEK of 11/8 is the week of that build to happen, the Window Sticker will have the Blend date on it (located just above the word "Blend" at the top edge and in reverse somewhat, so read from the end it will say something like xxxxx211110 which would be read as a blend date of 11-10-2021. That is the EXPECTED day the body and frame meet to run down the assembly line together. It is fluid and sometimes moves due to delays, etc. It is usually plus or minus 2 to 4 days ish. Don't pay too much attention to the Blend date really. Go into your respective build week forum thread and follow along there. There you will find out more about where you sit by watching the progress of others.
