Did anyone else receive the Off Roadeo invite for Barnwell or Palo Duro Canyon? Using your own Bronco of course. Anyone going?

Didn’t see either of those!

I'm curious. It cost about as much as the Off Roadeo you get from buying a Bronco. I haven't been to any of the NTBC meetup rides, which are free, and sometimes at one of those locations. Anyone been to both the Off Roadeo and the Bronco meetup rides and can compare?

I did and I’m debating as I haven’t received my bronco yet but keep being told it will be here by the end of the month. For all interested it cost $587 and that is with taxes. The off rodea was fun as hell but this looks more like muddy trails as opposed to rocky trails but never been there so I don’t know

I got the invite and Merus (Palo Duro Canyon) has been on my list for a while. From the YouTube videos I’ve watched, Merus has a little bit of everything but it definitely won’t be muddy since we haven’t had significant rain out there for about a year. $587 seems pretty steep when you can go yourself for about $20-40. Having a guide is great but I’d like to price one of the Merus guides to compare. I have no doubt it would be fun, but there might be another way to get a similar experience at a lower price.

$68/rig for a guided 6 hour trip at Merus using their own guides. You have to bring your own lunch but I can buy a lot of lunch for $500. If we did a group event with 3 or more rig’s it’s $50 per rig. Group 2 day, 1 night camping event is $87 per rig. If we did a NTBC event out there I might be able to get some participation from the Oklahoma BC as well. Just food for thought

@MannyG20 I’ll call them tomorrow and start checking dates. We might even be able to get a group rate on a hotel on the East side of Amarillo, set up a dinner the night before, etc..

@MannyG20 It’s not looking good for me. Between kids softball tournaments and a couple of other events they’re having there, it’s either next weekend or I would have to wait until after my grandson is born in the middle of June. Next weekend is pretty quick turnaround to get much organized.
