Bay Area Broncos

Here we go with the new G.O.A.T’s of the bay!!
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone has ordered their Bronco through Frontier Ford in Santa Clara. I did recently but not sure if I should switch.

so, curious which insurance company your'e going with, and if you feel like sharing, what they quote you? I have my house and other cars with Farmer's, but they quoted me an insane $1443.00 every six months and are not budging. I did an online quote with Geico (hate that arrogant lizard) and they come in at a bit over 600. I'll check others, but if you already have your Bronco insured or have a good quote, I'd appreciate to know with whom you'll go. I'm certainly not paying $3k per year, not sure what's wrong with the Farmer's guys.

Mine is a Badsquatch with Lux, 2.7, tow.

Thanks!

I have all our insurance through State Farm - 2 life insurance policies on me, one on my wife, our house, 4 cars, all my photography gear, and a personal articles policy - they like us, LOL .... I haven't contacted them to find out about the rate for a Bronco - I'll just call them and let them know when I buy it.. I can't imagine it'll be much different than what I pay on my '21 ZR2

No Bronco yet, in the meantime I bought Mrs a 2021 Expy.

I'm with Nationwide for home, farm liability, and 2 other old (2002) vehicles that are liability/uninsured motorist only.

Adding the Expy with full comp and collision, windshield replacement, and very high liability coverage on all 3 vehicles added $400/6 months to my bill.

Hey gentleman and gentle ladies. I was born and raised in the East bay but now travel back and forth between LA, the Bay Area, and Wyoming. Cant wait to WOT in the desert ??

Picked up my base Antimatter Blue 2dr today at Walnut Creek Ford. Shahram (GM) and his crew made my purchase experience quick and painless. Professional and courteous throughout. I highly recommend WC Ford! Couldn’t be more happier with my new ride.

Update. I will not be there tomorrow. I had contact with someone that tested positive so I’m in quarantine. Bummed I won’t be able to share my baby with everyone.

Hopefully you didn’t catch it from them, but if you did then get well soon! Good health is more important than anything

Hey, I'd love to hear more about Cars and Coffee, is this for any cars or just Bronco's? My BD has an estimated arrival date of Sept 2, I'm in Marin County and I'd love to see your BL. Thanks and congrats!
Walnut Creek Ford peeps, have any of you received any correspondence about your Broncos? I’ve emailed the dealership a couple times trying to get an kind of info on my order…crickets 😒.

I'm in no rush, driving a rental stick shift around Bavaria right now, would have no use for a Bronco in my driveway anyways, shortly after we return school starts up again and I'll not be able to go on road trips either for a while.
I did change to soft top now, since Shahram confirmed that I won't be scheduled before Setp, so I'll get my free HT kit installed. Soft top could look better, but I don't really care, the easy open and close will be so much better than panels to deal with, especially in the Bay Area and Karl the Fog screwing up warm day's evenings, LOL.

@murphtron I might add, I have just about all of the other 'sins', BL, 'squatch, 2.7, Lux, tow. I guess all the now "parked" MIC top builds made mine move up the line quite a bit. Even with a night one res I was #40 on the original allocations they have at WC Ford. And last I mailed with him, they had only delivered 3 so far. That's gonna change quickly now apparently, good for us!

@BLMike it's where I'm from, grew up outside of Nuremberg, we're usually over there once a year.

I got my build week today! Week of Aug 30. Exciting!

Nuremberg is my Dads birthplace. Been there many times. I’m CA born but both parents from Germany. Obviously our build weeks are now in limbo! :-(

@BLMike that's funny, it's a great town, went to college there too, hometown is a little village next to Erlangen.
Yeah, I got "my" build week this week, but I fully expect that to shift around. But overall I'm confident that things will move along now, bummer for those caught on the dirt lot with a built rig, but a couple more weeks and they all will hopefully get one with a good roof they don't have to worry about.

Hey duders. Who has experience with places in the bay that do seat covers or recoverings? Katzkin or Coverking etc. I'm looking for something that is more permanent and looks factory.

I'm getting a BB Sas and the only thing I'd want to change are the cloth seats

Looks like Coach uses Katzkins. Unfortunately, they don't make products for MB. (Which seems to be a common issue I'm discovering.)

@Natai Yeah, Katzkin doesn't do upper level vehicles usually, as they typically come with leather from the factory (unless you have MBTex/Sensatec)
Natai
Natai
@Gloff Yeah, we got MBTex on the wife's GLC. We didn't want a really dark interior, and that's all they offered in leather with the other stuff she wanted that first year. Overall the MBTex is actually very nice.
However, I think they copied the front seats from one of their sports cars or sedans, with a higher bolster on the side. Add in the ride height of the GLC compared to a car and the thinness of the material, and you get a design that wears way too easily. Had worn patches on the front seat within 5 months. They replaced them once, but very reluctantly. Only negative we've experienced, but very irritating.

Bartact is king for seat covers on the Jeeps. They are making them for the Bronco as well.

I wonder if they're doing test drives...
Wirenut20
@eengineer Yes they are, but if for some reason they don't The Ford Store in Morgan Hill has a 4 door Wildtrak that I was able to drive on Saturday. Also, Livermore Ford has 2 Broncos that they are letting you test drive.
murphtron
Walnut Creek Ford is also offering test rides. The email was in my spam folder. The only reason I look in my spam folder is for Bronco emails :)

Been a crazy two weeks between no scheduling and the bummer email.

@Gloff I dunno if you have any insight into this, but do you still think Serramonte is only going to schedule two FE's every first week of scheduling? No answer is still fine. My expectations are still October for delivery, but wanted to know if it could be sooner/later than that.

Totally unrelated... Does Serramonte Ford do window tinting or nah? Been looking for places in the Bay Area and it'd be cool if I could skip a step on delivery day. :)

@Boston182 we don't, but I always refer people to King Tint in SSF. They're a bit on the high side, but work is quality. My sister's mustangs tint looks like the day they installed it 5 years ago
If anyone is up for a guided trip to northern Baja in June, here's a link for the info. I have not done a trip with these people but I've watched a few on YouTube. This will be an easy overlanding-style trip. Not rock crawling. Afterwards a few of us will be heading north on Hwy 395 to hit one or two other trails before heading back to the Bay Area. We'll be camping.

FYI the Baja trip was very fun. One person had a Bronco VIN but build date slipped from July to Sept. No actual Broncos in the group but plenty of Wranglers, 4Runners, Tacomas and Land Cruisers. Perhaps next trip in October will have Broncos. Good crew. I recommend Camp4Lo for guided trips. I’ll do it again. Beach running was a blast!

that looks like a fun trip! I've never been down there, a guided trip would sure be interesting once my Bronco shows up. If mine shows up before October I'd consider it.

Dear Ford,

The only justification for my full size Bronco being so late, is if it gets delivered like this. Please verify.

Saw this driving down the road outside SAC.

Nothing today. Low 30's at Serramonte. I did change after Mondays viewing at Serramonte...4 door base sasquatch from 2 door. Far smaller than I thought. I did have a beautiful '76 Bronco Ranger and looking back at photos I realized how small it was. 4 dr will be fine with big tires. Waiting...

Being a relatively late reservation of 8/10, I was 400+ on Serramonte's list. I knew I would not be part of the MY21 builds. Add to the fact that I'd stuck with the painted black modular top, a MY22 Bronco was assured. Now I'm just patiently waiting for the next 6+ months and continue to pad my savings account.
Gene Dios
Who went to Livermore today? I wish they had a Sasquatch /badlands but I was able to see most of what I wanted to. My major takeaway was that it's exactly what I thought it was.

I went today as well. I just posted a few thoughts on a different thread. Excited, but wish they would have had a Badlands SAS or FE.

Bummer, live like 2 miles away and didn't know about it. They were "not friendly" when I went last year to ask about the Bronco though. I would have liked to have seen them, but I pushed my original day-1 request to MY22 anyhow, if I stick with it.
Creepystalker
@Norville haha I have to agree, the actual sales guys sucked. I don’t have my reservation there but wanted to see if we could negotiate parts because their markup was so high and they just forwarded me to the parts counter. It’s ok I’m sure I can find another dealer that wants my money.
murphtron
It was good to actually see & sit in one at Walnut Creek yesterday. It's both larger (from an exterior perspective) and smaller (from an interior perspective) than I imagined. Not in a bad way, and it's all good, and I remain very excited to get my Bronco. But it convinced me this is not going to be a family daily driver/family long road trip car. I'll be keeping the Highlander for that. This is gonna be my fun adventure car. A very expensive fun adventure car, for sure, and the 'smart me' would just buy a used Wrangler or 4Runner. But this is not a rational purchase, and the 'smart me' was not consulted!
any bronco family event going on today in the bay or valley? missed the one in San Jose yesterday.

I went to Serramonte today for their event. They had a 4dr OB in black and a 4dr BD in CG. Both had soft tops and looked great! I’ll try and post some pics.

I’m going to Livermore today. Hoping to be wowed, I don’t plan on asking questions about the bronco.

May use this as an opportunity to negotiate accessories. If they can give me a reasonable deal I’ll purchase them on site.

I’ll be in Walnut Creek Wednesday 3pm

I went to the Bronco event at Serramonte Ford yesterday. I know a lot of folks probably saw the same ones all over the Bay Area but I'll show folks here also if you missed it.

I have not posted much recently because I had Bronco overload and can't stand waiting for something I want. I traded my JL in for a RAM Power Wagon a few months ago and have been enjoying building it out also another reason I have not been on here. Also, changed my order from the FE to Wildtrak, I have my reasons. Will be keeping both rigs going forward and look forward to meeting up with folks on here once we all get our Vehicles.

is anyone here familiar with the OHV park by Livermore? I've never been and can't find much info online, looks like it's mostly geared towards bikes and quads and all that, are there some trails to take a Bronco on and practice some things, check out how all the settings and modes etc work? It looks like parts of it are closed from last year's fires too, but if it's a nice park with some fun trails or obstacles it might make for a fun weekend destination once I have my Bronco. Might actually just check it out with my truck soon, but if you've been there I'd appreciate some info!

Yay, my order is in the system, got the confirmation e-mail from Ford and from my dealer, making this historic day even better :-D
Now the real wait begins and I have to stay on top of my dealer, according to him dual tops can't be ordered until "spring" what ever that may mean in Ford speak. So for now order is for the MIC top, since I want to be sure to get wiring and plumbing for the rear wiper in my rig. I'll add the soft top as soon as possible. (My dealer got the confirmation from Ford that if you order soft top only the wiring and plumbing will NOT be on your Bronco. Kind of lame, like Jeep in this regard. So keep that in mind if you think about maybe adding a hard top later on, getting the wiring and switches in will be costy.)

Several things on my order are late availability, so I don't expect to actually sit in this thing until late summer the earliest, but that's fine with me, no need to rush it now. A couple weeks more or less won't matter.

I ordered a cyber orange 4 door Badlands, 2.7/auto, Lux, Sashquatch, two package, dual top (MIC for now), LUX.

Late availability (per my dealer) are for hard top, 2.7, and Lux.

My order is with Walnut Creek Ford, also got a call from Shahram today to go over things. Exciting!

I switched to MIC top only so I maybe might get mine this year, I'll see about soft top later on. Ideally I'd like a soft top/sun rider over the two rows of seats and keep the shell of the hard top in the back. Unfortunately Bestop told me they have no plans to build that (for now), but somebody will in the aftermarket. I'd think.

Yeah, I think in May we should hear from Ford and get some kind of delivery time range, that's all we can do right now. I don't even know what order number I'm at the dealer or how many orders they have, I might ask when I go look at the traveling Broncos in a bit over a week.
