Bay Area Broncos

Here we go with the new G.O.A.T’s of the bay!!

I got a few pics of the two together for Christmas. I will put out a short review at some point with some observations between the Wildtrak and Raptor. In short, the Raptor is everything every review says. Awesome vehicle.

Huge shout-out to Serramonte Ford!

A few people have asked about Gold Country Broncos and any events planned, since everything with the group up until now has been coordinated through Facebook. I've got good news - the group finally has a standalone website!
The plan is to make sure all events posted to FB are mirrored to the site. And site members are free to post events as well.

Thanks. I ended up getting a set of TP bits on Amazon, all good. Turns out I needed TP 25 and TP30 for the cowl to install the a-pillar lights

Sorry I haven’t been active, merry Xmas from San Jose.

Made it to HH but learned that the alternator is under the motor, and got towed home after trying a 3ft water pit.

Locking both diffs is really amazing, but I finally got stuck for the first time.

Great to see more locals posting their adventures! Looks like HH is pretty muddy after the recent rain.

Yeah, that pit is deep. Is that the one that caused the alt issue or was it the main mud pit? I've been to HH when it's muddy like that and try to avoid it now.

@Sewie it was another pit. You know the upper playground area where the water pit has a wood fence in the center? If you drive by that and hang left at the split, there’s a pit there.

@Sewie yeah this was my first time seeing water in it. It was the deepest anywhere at the park.

We had a very successful donut run yesterday, with seven rigs participating. Thanks for coming out guys, we'll do it again in a month!

And when you're done there, head to High Water Brewing in Lodi.
They're releasing a Bronco beer and hoping a bunch show up. (12-5pm)

Donuts, beer, Broncos. Sounds like a good day.

I recently created a group on Facebook, named "Central Coast Broncos", and have used it to organize events and bring together Bronco owners who are on the coast/in the heart of the Bay Area.

To cater to non-FB Bronco owners, I decided to also create a website for CCB, which will list past and upcoming events that I lead/am aware of in the Bay Area, at this link: www.centralcoastbroncos.com. Feel free to check it out and contact me via the Contact/Join Us page links.

I will also announce upcoming events via an email list on Groups.io, to which one can subscribe on the Contact/Join Us page on the website, or by clicking HERE.

Note that there are other Bay Area Bronco groups on Facebook. Gold Country Broncos is especially active, but their runs are mostly in the Sierra foothills/Tahoe/Sacramento area; despite the distance, I love participating in their events as they're well run, and are loads of fun!

Hopefully these platforms/tools will help keep everyone updated on what's happening in the Bay Area Bronco world.

Central Coast Broncos has an upcoming event on Dec. 17 at 9 AM - our monthly meet-up at Dunlap's Donuts in Santa Cruz - I hope to meet some of you there... until then,

WHEEL YOUR BRONCO.

Had a great time at HH on Sunday with @bman3000 and one other Bronco. I'm a first timer, so my heart was racing in the first 15min and I winced at the first sounds of metal scraping, but I was amazed by what a stock Bronco can do. I couldn't have done it without friendly, experienced folks in the group though. They even put up with my 7yo son's radio chatter. Looking forward to future adventures with this group!

Anyone else found a way of seeing when the dealer has a schedule delivery from the Port? My Bronco is waiting at the Port of Richmond and has a status of pending pick up. My dealer rarely answers and when they do it’s just very quick so just wondering if anyone has had any luck finding a “ship” date from the port to the dealer. Also has anyone else received a bronco ordering from Michael Stead’s Hilltop Ford? If so how long did your bronco sit at the port from when you received it?

We purchased from Michael Stead’s Hilltop Ford in January. Took about 5 days from arrival at the train yard till delivery at the dealer. I was never able to find a way to track from train yard to the dealer and both Sean Driver and Maria siad they couldn't estimate delivery as they had a truck driver shortage at the time.
WheelMe
WheelMe
@RangerDanger I did set up email notifications for Shipment and Delivery on the United Road tracker, but other than that, I can't gauge how long it'll take to get my car on a truck. I did notice that the last shipment consisted of six vehicles; there are currently four vehicles on the ground for my dealer. Each car-hauling trailer can handle six to eight cars, according to the "Internet"; there are lots of Ford dealers between Richmond and Santa Cruz, of course, along the I-880 corridor. Unfortunately, I don't believe that car hauling drivers work weekends.
Gloff
Gloff
Hilltop's proximity to the port means that the dealer likely doesn't know they're receiving the shipment until the day it will arrive. There's really no way to track it since the transport co. dispatches based on availability and location. When it ships, the dealer will get a notification, and the vehicle will likely be there in a couple hours from that notification.

I order/purchased my Badlands from Walnut Creek Ford —- sister dealers part of Stead Auto Group.

From the Richmond Rail yard…It all matters on how many cars are ahead of you waiting to be trucked….

For example there were at least 50 cars ahead of me when my train car landed at Richmond…All of those cars were waiting truck transport ahead of me….

Then once it hits the dealership it can take up to two days to inspect and detail for pick up…

Enclosed are pics of tracking the transport “live” from the rail yard… to unloading the transport at the WCFord delivery lot!

I hope this helps.

Just throwing this out there - is there any interest in a East->West run of the Mojave Road come February 2023 (before the overlanding crowd takes over in March/April)?
I'm thinking departure from the Needles area on a Friday morning, and disbursed-camping for two nights on the trail; hopefully with time to visit all the cool sights and mess around a bit.

A more ambitious plan is to tack on a day or two to go Baja-Mode in Johnson Valley, before Mojave.

Let's gauge interest. I think that an idea group size would be 8 rigs.

May be an image of road and nature

Just finished an audio overhaul with Lotts Auto Stereo in Santa Cruz, and I'm very happy with their work and the final product. @omg_bbq I've never actually been down to Eagle Lake but I did Fordyce a few years back in a heavily modified 4runner. I don't think a Bronco will make it the full length of Fordyce (without heavy damage, AND heavily modified) but up to the lake turn off it's pretty easy going. If there's a little snow on the ground it will change and make things a little more spicy I'm guessing!

@RangerDanger I'm all in for easy going with some spice. I did Corral Hollow back in June or July and there was one section with patches of snow, bronco didn't care, but that was summer...
