question. I have an order confirmed for a Heritage at Bozard Ford since Sept 2023. I just learned that a fresh new order placed in Nov 2023 at Duval Ford is being completed in Jan 24. Should I change dealerships and does anyone know why? Its a Heritage 4 door, with switches and a hitch .2.7 is what I ordered.

I presume you are scheduled at Duval Ford. Two different orders; two different dealers; two different allocations. Keep both orders. The Duval Ford order might get delayed in scheduling and the Bozard order might get scheduled before. Once one is assigned a VIN (about 10 days before being built) then you can cancel the other order. But I will guarantee that neither dealer will actually cancel the order, but just refund whatever deposit (if any) that you placed. The order will remain in their system and will be put on the lot when built.
RjnCjn
thanks @Beach_Bum . I didnt do that. I didnt put a deposit either at Bozard. Just an email showing my build was confirmed. Do you have a salesman at Duval you would recommend?

I do not have a contact at Duval Ford. FWIW, Bozard is a good dealership. They handle my service. But they have been using that line "No. 1 dealership in the nation" for a long time and it isn't true. I have had 4 orders - one being with Bozard going back to August of 2020. They still have been unable to deliver the one order based on their allocation (2-dr Black Diamond non-Sasquatch). In the meantime, I have 2 Broncos parked in my driveway. The largest number of Broncos sold this year by any dealership around the country is Granger Auto. They delivered over 700 Broncos (my order with them was 742) just this year. Bozard hasn't done that if you count every single Bronco since launch. They haven't delivered even 300 combined over the past 3 model years. With regards to the largest volume Ford dealer (all vehicles) that goes to Bill Brown Ford in Livonia (Detroit), MI. They have the nation's highest allocation. I received my first Bronco from them in which I had a VIN after 6 weeks with a brand new order.

For any of you in the path of Idalia, we are near Cedar Key so we are already getting the outer bands way up here (or early storms spawned by it, not sure?). Anyway, I just wanted to pop on and wish everyone well through this hurricane. I'm in Alachua County and it's going to get very windy here.

@Lowdogg I think we would still be without power except our power lines fell down and caught our power pole on fire in the middle of our planted pines. The power company came right out and had it fixed in a few hours. My neighbor (we are all farms out here, so it's "neighbor") still doesn't have power. I'm just thankful to have AC.

2023 Fall FAR - DECAL.png

Fall FAR 2023 - FLORIDA ADVENTURE ROUTE - an Overlanding BRONCO Event

September 15th,16th and 17th, 2023
Crescent Beach, FL to Steinhatchee, FL and then back (to Palatka, FL).

This is an Overland Group Ride (OGR) event. This is over paved and unpaved roads through some of Florida's most scenic areas.

This OGR has one of the lowest finisher ratios of almost any ROUTE out there . Fewer participants complete this entire OGR than finish the Dakar Rally as a percentage of those that start versus those that finish. Now, just to be clear, while the ROUTE can be challenging, the biggest hurdle for most to completing the entire OGR is blocking out the time and logistics to ride the entire route for 2 full days. So, make the most of your time and plan accordingly.

This time we are not going to make you take pictures or keep track of points (except for the beginning and end) so be honest and show some integrity.
All you must do is COMPLETE it and make it to the finish to earn a FAR decal.

We encourage/prefer that all participants team up with at least one other person if not more. Remember conditions on these dirt roads can change with the weather. It is important to travel with others in the event you encounter tricky spots where you might find yourself stuck in one spot for the foreseeable future unless you get some help from someone.
It is for this reason we will have a group of sweeps, and any new riders, who do not have a group to ride with. This way you will be able to follow along and go at your own pace. Since this group will likely have not ridden this route either, you will see how we deal with closed gates, bridges out, angry farmers or any of the other potential deviations to the “route”. It is all part of the adventure, which we call fun.

Friday Night we will be meeting at 7:00pm at the Azalea City Brewing Co. This is located at 120 S. 7th St, Palatka. This is just a couple of blocks from the Hampton Inn. They have a food truck there on Friday Night. Also, since the place does not serve food, you can bring your meal in. Some folks will be getting pizza delivered. There are also some other good restaurants nearby. Hope to see all the early birds come and enjoy the evening.

GPX files are distributed the week of the event, and someone will be on site Friday evening and Saturday morning to help upload the route to your device if needed (Garmin, GaiaGPS, etc). Please bring the appropriate USB cord for your device to connect to a laptop on site (I will have USB A, C, etc).

COMMUNICATION WILL BE ON GPRS CHANNEL 22 (for high-powered, long-range communications) as well as FRS CHANNEL 7 (for those without GPRS radios). There will be sweepers equipped with “channel scan”, so don’t worry if you do not have GPRS, we can hear you on both channels if needed.

If you're coming from out of town, the host hotel for the start of the event is the Quality Inn & Suites Riverfront in Palatka. We have rooms blocked off in groups of 25... so once that fills up, they will block another 25 (if available). So don't wait to reserve your room if needed. The rate is currently negotiated at $109 for the night.
Ask for Melanie and tell her you are with the Fall FAR group or event.

Quality Inn & Suites Riverfront: (385) 328-3481

(They currently have 1/4 of the hotel reserved for a family reunion going on that same night or weekend.)

The Saturday Rider's meeting is from 8:00 to 8:30 (sunrise is projected to be at 7:10 am on 9/16, so don’t be late!). This is next to the Quality Inn Parking Lot in Palatka. On the corner is a vacant lot we can assemble in. However, the route begins at the Atlantic Ocean, in Crescent Beach, but I prefer not to use my laptop in the sand.

You will need to capture a picture of the sunrise (depending on weather) that morning in Crescent Beach and an additional picture of the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico in Steinhatchee to get a FAR decal.

Saturday's Dinner will be at 7:00pm at Fiddlers Restaurant - We are looking for donations to give as door prizes, and I will reach out to vendors to support our group with donations as well. Must be present at dinner to win. We will use tickets to draw for the winners.

Fiddler's is the main place to stay in Steinhatchee.

Fiddlers Restaurant and Resort: (352) 498-7427

Ask for Shelby, she is a real joy to talk with! Tell her you are with the Fall FAR group or event... you can't miss her accent! They allow pets, but there is a pet deposit or fee assessed to the room... ask them for more details.

Sunday morning rider meeting will be at 8:00am in Front of Fiddlers.
Finish is 4.00pm to 5:00pm at Azalea City Brewing in Palatka. Must be present to get awarded your FAR decal.

Information for newer Adventure enthusiasts. We encourage/prefer that all participants team up with at least one other participant if not more. Remember conditions on these dirt roads can change with the weather. It is important to drive with others in the event you encounter tricky spots where you might find yourself stuck for the foreseeable future unless you get some help.
It is for this reason the "meeting leader" that morning will try to drive out last with a group of sweeps and any new participants who do not have a group to go with. This way you will be able to follow along on your own and learn how to figure out navigation using GPS tracks. Since this group will likely have not ridden this route either, you will see how they deal with closed gates, bridges out, angry farmers or any of the other potential deviations to the “OGR”. It is all part of the adventure, which we call fun.

As we get closer, we will post up more details in this post.

This is a free event, and any donations will be raffled off on Saturday night.

We've had a lot of interest so far, so bear with me if I don't keep the names list updated. I will post a link to a website eventually (still working out the kinks) and there you all will be able to officially register (keeps numbers accurate for the reception hall and hotel and restaurant staff), as well as a "hold harmless" agreement... You know, the legal mumbo jumbo that says stuff like, "if you run over your dog because you left your vehicle in neutral, it's not our fault" kind of stuff. 👍

Glad to have you all... It's going to be a great weekend!

If for some dumb reason I forgot to post the link to the website, or it's not ready yet, just come see me... You're all welcome and there will be a stack of hold harmless agreement there anyways. 👍

GPX files won't be posted here, they'll be sent through email to registered individuals... Or by QR code on Friday and Saturday at the event. 👍

We will help anyone who can't get their route loaded, it's ezpz and will display right on your vehicle sync 4 head unit.

Website is somewhat active at this point... This is the best way to sign up for the event.

Use the "Contact Us" area at the bottom of the page to register, that way I know who is coming and you will receive the route GPX file the week before. 👍

Thx

Hey Y'all - As a new Bronco OWNER (after 2 YEARS of WAITING), I am ready to "get the adventure on." Looking forward to the upcoming Ol' Florida excursion on Saturday 01/28/23, as well as future possible trips to Ocala National Forest, Apalachicola National Forest, as well as Bronco Super Cell East in TN in April.

If you happen to be going to Ol' Florida, please let me know so that we can say hello. This is my first real off-road adventure since 2004 when I took my stock '88 to TN for a Wheelin' in the country event. Needless to say, it's great to be back in the saddle!

Giddie Up!

@Ducksworth I'll post different events that they have planned. Depending on where you are located some may make more sense. For example, they have a pizza night at Brewer's once a month. I've never gone as it doesn't make much sense for me to drive to Orange Park for pizza when I live in St. Augustine. But overall, they try to have different events from food meetups to wheeling at Hard Rock (every month). I do know that there is a contingent that will be going to the Overland Souteast Expo in March held in Starke.

Hi everyone! Can anyone recommend a trail? I live in Jacksonville and have absolutely no experience off-roading. I would like to take my 8 year old and 2 year old along with me. I'm really just looking to get off concrete, but nothing crazy. See below for my current build. Thanks.

Outer Banks, Non-Sas Lux, tow, 2.7L, Shadow Black, 18" RTR Tech 6 Bronco Wheels in Satin Black, 285/75r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 2" Rough Country Lift, Stubby Antenna.

Next week I am adding an Oracle Matte Black wrap over the whole truck.

So I wanted to post my crappy video of Hardrock and see if anyone else would be interested in going down there in the next month or two. They are open the first two weeks of the month. Not this weekend for obvious reasons🤣. I say crappy video, the video is crappy, the park was an absolute blast. Full disclosure, I am pretty darn new to 4 wheeling, but am trying to learn.

There is a FB group called 904JaxBroncos that is very active with meetups and trail rides. Most of the current members are in Orange Park/Fleming Island. If people don't use FB, then come out to the Caffeine and Octane car show at the Avenues (First Saturday of every month). Broncos will be featured and there will be a large turnout. Look forward to seeing you out and about.

My blend was 6/2, projected delivery 6/27-7/3, actually received on 6/17. It was a nice surprise to get it earlier. That was the case for probably 2/3 of the people in my build group. All but a few have been built, about 2/3 of us have gotten ours.

Depends on any constraints that may still be around (for example i got stuck on chip hold) and then it depends on how it is getting delivered. Hopefully if yours gets delivered by rail car they don't forget to scan and deliver it to the dealership like they did me.

Had no idea we had an NE Florida group. Just took delivery of my 2nd Bronco last week. 2022 Big bend soft top. I’m am actually blown away how much quieter the soft top was versus my 2dr hard top. The soft top is noticeable quieter.

do you have the sound deadening on the hard top?
white_dc
Mine 2dr didn’t but I drove one a big bend with it and the echo and reverberations were still loud in the hardtop. Both had roof racks which probably attributed to some of the noise. But even the sales person had mentioned he thought they were quieter as well.

so far I’m loving the soft top. I also had something strange on my hard top where the windows would pop off track in a strong crosswind. Pretty strange, but I haven’t had my soft top long enough for it to happen
