I know there are some folks from the Sacramento area - I'm in Natomas - who else is in (or near) the 916? Where's the first place you're gonna take your Bronco off the pavement?

It looks like we may have to start an Eruption Green club! It would make a great group photo!!

Still trying to sell the wife on it! Shes Hell bent on VB!
It’s my second favorite though.
Depends on how many people are going to have green ones around Sacramento!!
Really won’t be anything compared all the gray and silver cars out there!

Hey we should all share what our final build is when we go to new 22’ B&P….or we go to the dealer and put it in there.
And see how many actually picked green!
Us “Cowtown” Folk need to stick together!
(Thats the old name BTW for “Sactown” for all you Bay/LA transplants!) 🐄🤠

Hey SBC Has anyone went to off rodeo yet? I am thinking Moab or Vegas? If you did go (especially Moab) ,where did you stay?

Haven't scheduled yet, but leaning towards Vegas.
Every location offers something different, so I don't know that any of them are objectively better. For us, it's coming down to family and ease of access. I've got a brother in law in Vegas, so that will help get the wife excited for the trip. And it's much easier to catch a cheap flight from SMF to Vegas than travelling to Moab.

We're planning to stay at the recommended Red Rock resort. Looks like a nice place, and the discount you get for booking via the link from Off Roadeo is like 50% off their rates.

I want to do Moab @da_jokker but your right about the remoteness and since I teach, I would have to plan around breaks (Christmas/ spring). I have in-law in Ut but they are about 4 hrs out. But I definitely want to take a trip up there in the future.

@Natai i will probably hit the Vegas run as quick access to flights. I need to set up for spring break (my district is 2nd week of April). 😄🤞🏽

My dealer is Elk Grove Ford. They have been great, including the general manager who is handing the Bronco reservations directly, the internet sales manager, and all the sales people. Their staff is just fantastic, and I have been very pleased with my prior purchases there, maintenance and service. I 99'ed my early reservation to MY22 to get the green exterior color, and I am happy they have announced it now as Eruption Green. I will order my Black Diamond 2-door as soon as the order banks open. I have talked to my internet manager about that, and we are good to go. They have had a demo Outer Banks 4-door for a couple of months now that they welcome reservation holders to drive, and when I was there on Monday this week, they also had a 4 door 2.3l auto trans Big Bend arrive. The buyer backed out and that vehicle is for sale to any reservation holder. I don't know if it has a mark-up, as I did not ask about that. The only add on it had on the window sticker was the auto trans, and it is a soft top with no lockers.

That’s cool @DebbieEF they are taking care of you. My dealer had a badlands not taken also. Same deal for res holders to option 1st, however it had a 10K ADM though 😳🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah be very cautious...practically All Sac Area dealers are adding Admin and not being straight with the customers...especially FUTURE ford.

I will say I spoke with Auburn Ford and they swore up and down only MSRP for reservation holders.

At one Point Folsom told me only a $2k ADM but I doubt they kept it that low.

Serramonte has been great, but at this point they would be MSRP for you so I'd recommend Auburn...closer for the same price.

For those of you that might be interested, found this YouTube about some beginner trails near Sacramento. Thinking of doing some of these to warm up my Bronco if I ever get it.

Prarie city is more for dirtbikes and 4 wheelers. They have a small section that is man made for trucks and the like. But just be aware it's not a trail system

@Mdemieville I heard they closed it down for a bit to donsome structuring, but I sold my XJ before I could go back after they reopened. I'd only been once before, and you're right there wasn't a lot there, but for $5 there was enought to be a good place to do some preliminary off-roading in a controlled environment to get used to the Bronco. It'll probably be the first place I go in like 2023

@da_jokker That's my thought as well. I understand there are some dirt roads around the property (and perhaps a couple of fields you can drive across?) Figured this would be a good way to just get familiar with basic feel and handling off-pavement. Plus the couple well-maintained obstacles seem like a good controlled environment to test out some of the features.
Plus maybe meet some local wheelers that are welcoming to noobs.

Thanks @da_jokker great post! I've been in a lull, hype-wise, as I'm probably looking at a MY23 while watching (though happily) folks taking their deliveries now. This video is sweet and I definitely plan to hit them all! Maybe Prairie City first to get familiar, then the Poker Flat trek. That looked like a great, longer decent cruise to get out there and build confidence.

I got a Chevy ZR2 Bison back in December as my first off-road vehicle - I live in Sacramento. I've been doing quite a bit of exploring over the past 8.5 months - mostly looking for trails to get me off the beaten path, give me some access to nice scenery and get away from people.. I'm not into rock crawling. I would say there are many other opportunities other than some of those in the video, which are better for new off-roaders - some of those trails had some big rocks and stuff that might be a bit much for a new off-roader.

So, I have spoken with the internet sales manager at Future Ford Roseville ( 3 times) and he assures me there will be NO ADM, and all discount plans from ford will be honored.

I reached out to them just today Anonymously via their website and asked some basic questions... I'll post the response here... would be at least 3 different folks at the same dealer with hopefully the same answers.

Has anyone here heard anything more on their build dates? Curious if CA reservation holders are getting any closer.

@JesseS I am at same dealer and I have Tyler. Interesting they have two at same dealership
I just got email conformation from the sales manger Greg Zehms at Sonora Ford, They will honer the X plan if ford allows and no ADM plus a No-Cost 25 year unlimited mileage limited powertrain warranty.

Typically, a lot of dealers of various brands are offering that kind of a warranty only if you always service it at a Ford dealership, etc. So you will pay a lot for that warranty in the long run than if you service it elsewhere or by yourself. Make sure to read the fine print as on a rare occasion, I've seen some that do allow you to service it anywhere (so long as you keep receipts, etc.).

For what's it worth, called Folsom this week, and they said they are doing a ADM but it is not outlandish. Don't remember the exact number but it was in the $1k -$2k range (for reservations).

However I also talked to Auburn, and they are doing MSRP with no funny business (again for reservations). Placed a second reservation with them hoping to get a build that will skip in line to hold me over.

I'm down. We might have to do some evening runs after work on Folsom lake bed this summer. There won't be enough water to take the boat out. Hopefully, the Bronco is here in time. Although wakeboarding and tubing behind the Bronco might be interesting.

Elk Grove Ford. I have had nothing but positive interactions with them over the years, including with my Bronco reservation and order.
