I know there are some folks from the Sacramento area - I'm in Natomas - who else is in (or near) the 916? Where's the first place you're gonna take your Bronco off the pavement?

@Seanette and I are in South Sacramento, near Valley Hi and Mack.

A primary point to my buying the Bronco is to have a vehicle that can much more comfortably and easily go in and out of some of the constructions sites on which I find myself working. Our current vehicle, a 2016 Dodge Dart, has not yet encountered any terrain getting in or out of a site that it couldn't cross, but I very often feel like I am well outside of what it is designed to safely handle, and often afraid of breaking it, or getting it stuck. Even many of the roads here in Sacramento are in pretty crappy condition, and rougher than what this car really feels suited to.

The very least capable possible version of a Base Bronco would probably be overkill for my practical off-road needs, but due to combinations of features that I am well set on getting, I've been pushed to the Badlands trim. If I could get the Lux Package (or even the High Package) and the washout interior on a base that would probably have been a much more sensible choice for me than what I ended up ordering. If you were to see how much construction-site dirt there is in my Dart, and imagine how difficult it will be to clean it out, you'll understand why the washout interior is a huge deal for me.

So, it's likely that the first time I take my Bronco off road, it will be getting into whatever construction site I happen to be working at at the time I get my Bronco.

Now, having ordered what is billed as the “Extreme Off-Roading” version of the Bronco, I am going to be itching to find places I can go with it, that I couldn't go in a more normal vehicle. Much remains to be seen about how things will play out by the time my Bronco arrives, with regard to how able @Seanette and I will be able to take time off of work, and how much is left of my inheritance by then, but I'm hoping, at the very least, to be able to go to one of the Off-Roadeo events.

On a more modest scale, I am thinking of seeing, then, if I can talk any other local who has some decent off-road experience and skill to come with me to Prairie City park and give me some instruction and guidance there as to learning how better to use my Bronco. Sort of a miniature DIY Off-Roadeo.

And I have a few trips I've envisioned taking, and have floated a few ideas as to trying to organize these as group trips with other Bronco6G members. My primary motive comes from realizing that some of the places I want to go are in remote areas, with little traffic and dodgy cell phone coverage, at best, and it would be better for there to be a group of vehicles there instead of just one vehicle alone, to avoid the risk of being stranded in the middle of nowhere in the event of a breakdown or other adverse event.

Gold Country Broncos Eagle Lakes trail/Pierce OHV Clean up and Trail Run June 3rd 2023 - This is a cross post from Facebook. I will update it as we get closer to the date. This should be pretty fun day as the trail has a good obstacle Driveline Hill. Gold Country Broncos adopted Eagle Lakes trail/Pierce OHV. Looking to try and do cleans up after every major holiday weekend but starting with June 3rd! This is the first one so it is a work in progress. This will be a no vehicle limit run if we break out in groups.

9:15am leaving Raleys in Auburn
10:00am Arrival and de-airing
10:30am Start trail run with Pierce OHV and conduct clean up at restroom area.

Work will be cleaning any visible trash and a couple of stops along the way to clean up common camping areas. Some trimming of brush(clearing sticks that can go through windows) and maybe moving a log or two (if someone is making a bypass our job it to winch a log over and block it). Don't forget to have fun! With enough people this really is more of a trail run than clean-up.

I have done this with Fresno 4WD the key is breaking down into a couple of groups each with a specific area. I am also trying to break the trail down into Easy, Medium and Hard. Weather should be good and most of the snow melted (we are picking up the trash accumulated over winter). Hopefully group 3 section will be Bronco Sport Friendly(Gold Country is a Bronco Club so Sports or anything with a Bronco Badge is accepted).

Group 1 will be chainsaws/brush crew and will have the clean up from Fordyce Trail to eagle lake. They will leave while the other two groups clean the restroom area.

Group 2 will have roughly a 1/2 Mile past the fork 12E46 and 13E10 intersection to Fordyce trail. This includes Driveline Hill (real wheeling! possible damage, google "Driveline Hill Fordyce") and a few Camping areas.

Group 3 will have from the Restrooms to 1/2 Mile past fork 12E46 and 13E10. Fork in the road is a common camping and repair vehicle area. LOTS OF TRASH at the 12E46 and 13E10!

Hola! I won't bury the lede: does anyone have any off-road recovery options for Cow Mountain or have a winch and want to help a Bronco brother out?

We've been on the road 7 months pulling our travel trailer from Colorado to Idaho, down to Mexico and back up to northern California. We are staying in Healdsburg until the end of February. We wheel most Saturdays in a new location and today was supposed to be a chill day at South Cow. 1.5 miles in on the east entrance of Trail 17 we took a banked left turn and were met with slope of slick clay. We got the Bronco down and turned around to not get any further in and are now stuck. We spent 1.5 hours digging out with all our recovery gear (no winch) and had to leave it behind.

Help!

A few people have asked about Gold Country Broncos and any events planned, since everything with the group up until now has been coordinated through Facebook. I've got good news - the group finally has a standalone website!
The plan is to make sure all events posted to FB are mirrored to the site. And site members are free to post events as well.

But no new posts here and possible Bronco meet and greet 12/3 at Prairie City? Sorry I am just trying to figure this all out #painfuloldpeople!

Right now pretty much all event scheduling is taking place via the FB group. There should be a standalone site fairly soon. Got to get a domain registered, pick a platform, build things out, etc. still. A lot to coordinate in the middle of the holidays.
At the moment seems like there's something scheduled about every weekend til mid January.
Give me a few and I'll see if I can pull together a quick list.

I used Folsom Lake Ford for my order - through Mike in Internet sales. Zero mark up on MSRP and when I was with the finance guy they saw an incentive program from previously buying a few Ford trucks and they honored a few grand off... pretty stand up! Upon delivery it had a few things that needed addressed but they did everything I asked to make me happy and correct the issues.

@GOAT X4 nice to know. I originally had called them and looking for a place to move my reservation to, and at that time (which of course was a couple years ago) They told me they were charging ADM, although they said it was only like 2k. Seems like they may have sorted that out.
Hey everyone - not sure how many of you are on Facebook - but there's a great group you can join - Gold Country Broncos - we've got a meet and greet happening at Prairie City on 12/3 - feel free to check out the group, join (no obligations LOL) and meet up with some of us! There will be a variety of experience levels, so this is a good opportunity to learn how to use your Bronco in a safe and controlled environment with other people around to help, or just hang out and meet other enthusiasts!

this is the link for the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/504030094727180
Here's the specific event link: (If you're going to go, please use the respond option to indicate if you're going or not - the organizer is planning to get pizza)

Hope to see some of you soon!! Here's a couple pics from a recent outing with the group:

So up here in Roseville, I can't take my kid to school now without seeing 1-3 Broncos. I even see an emerald green one all the time.

Yet my 7/19/20 res --> 1/29/21 order still goes without a VIN/Build Date!

same boat. I'm in Natomas... luckily I work from home so I don't drive a lot during commuter time- so I've only seen a total of 4 broncos on the road ever... I'm a 7/20 res date and 2/1 order date, so I feel your pain :(

@Bucker because in my opinion it’s getting real stale with no oversight. Stuff was stickied that wasn’t relevant. Didn’t seem to be much interest in get togethers. Figured I’d kick off a new one. If it sucks, and no one joins, so be it. We always have this club with no admin.

Going to get out tomorrow with the kiddos. Anyone want to go on a mild-moderate Bronco adventure? I’ll have my two little girls with me. Thinking of heading up 50, or 80. Hopefully something with some water at the end for a swim. I’m open to anything. Feel free to DM me if you want to roll. I’ll shoot you my number over message.

They are they same rims and tires as yours. I got them (takeoffs) from a guy in Vacaville. I had to take off the front crash bars due to rubbing. It still rubs a bit with the wheels cranked
