I'm doing some initial legwork on a Knoxville trip next summer to scout out the area with the intention of possibly moving in 2024-25. Planning to spend about 10-12 days. Windrock is on the menu one of the days, but what are some non-4x4 sights I should see? I'm thinking early July, or should I go a bit later to really get a feel for the summer heat?

Event details
Saturday, June 24 · 9am - 1pm EDT
We could use up to 40 volunteers to help put the finishing touches on the much-needed refurbishment of a hugely popular picnic area near Parksville Lake, just a short hop from downtown Chattanooga.
We will meet at 3171 US-64 East and then drive to the work area, which is actually located at 35°09'01.6"N 84°36'27.8"W.
**If you would like a t-shirt, please email [email protected] and let us know your size!**

The Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA), hailed as landmark conservation legislation when it passed in 2020, provides funding to federal agencies like the Forest Service to deliver benefits to the American public through major investments in infrastructure, recreation facilities, public lands access, and land and water conservation.

Through this public-private partnership, we’re leveraging funding from GAOA with a donation from the private sector – Bronco Wild Fund and local Ford dealers – to enhance recreation infrastructure and improve the visitor experience for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

I am up in the Crossville area, I would be willing to come down and help out. Will we need to bring any tools? If so I will need to bring my F150. If not then the Bronco will work.

How close are you to the 40 volunteer goal? It would be awesome to see bronco people show up to support this.

We have an event planned the same day to ride Haley Rd and more in Prentice Cooper State Park outside of Chattanooga. It's a joint outting with our bronco group and another offroad group. Calling it Bronco vs Jeep for fun. https://instagram.com/segen6broncos?igshid=MzNlNGNkZWQ4Mg==

I'm not sure if we will be finished by 1pm but I'm certain I could get you more people as a follow up to our outting. If you're interested, is there any chance of extending the time to 2 or 3? I can try to keep the group on schedule and try to get to the location by 1pm.

FYI there is a specific Windrock Group that I think would be a great place to put all Windrock discussions / outings / etc in that is related to Windrock. Going forward I know there are many that will be going and/or doing outings.

Hi all, I’m a new owner and completely new to off roading. I live up in the tri cities area. I see that I missed the last trip, are there any others in the works? I’d rather my first time off roading be with some people that know what they are doing.
I have a base 4 door with Sasquatch package.
Thanks!

Congratulations and welcome! I don’t have mine yet but is supposed to be in production in the next two weeks. Hopefully we can both catch the next one.

If you're willing to come to Chatt, the "Chattoffroadmonthlymeet" seems like a great spot for what you're talking about. Check them out on instagram. Not just Broncos but a BaseSquatch should be able to keep up with anything they're doing.

I also highly recommend attending an Off-Roadeo if you can. My wife had never done any technical stuff and learned a TON. I had a blast as well.

Awesome. Will definitely consider going to Chatt. I’m sure I could learn something from the rodeo but I’ve been wheeling for 40+ years and I’m sure my new Bronco will be every bit as capable as my old one. (When I’m done with it)

Anybody been to 5313 Off-Road park in the N Georgia area? We’ve never been but thinking about going this weekend with the family.

We’ve also yet to go to Windrock but 5313 is much closer for us than Windrock.

edit: also found this park we’re considering. New to us. Adventure Off-road Park: https://www.adventureoffroadpark.com/#_

AOP is a day trip , but has any level of wheeling you want to try.

I went to AOP and had a great time, (especially on their little side mud track) however they apparently were not keeping up with their trials markers. Some marked “easy” level trails were intense. I was on one of these easy trails and turned around. In front of me was one of those old Jeep basically turned into a cage, with 40”s and a 6”lift struggling to get up the rock stairs in front of me lol. This was on the “easy” trail lol

Good morning from Crossville. Got her a few weeks ago, and was playing around with the top the other day. Today I am installing a trailer hitch and wiring so I can tow my boat. I think I will be heading to Windrock on the 28th with a few folks from this site.

I am completely stock except for the tires. No skids yet, I plan on leveling it and getting sliders for now. Enjoy the sunshine
