Hello - I am finally ready to get out on a trail! Since I am a beginner the plan is to go to the Uwharrie National Forest and do the Wolf Den TR 89 trail. Possibly April 12th or 13th; dates are flexible if anyone is interested in meeting up.
Any tips from those of you that have done the trail?

Wolf den is pretty tame.
Have a larger plan because wolf den will take you about 20 minutes and then youā€™re done.
Pretty much avoid Dickey Bell and the front of Daniel and you shouldnā€™t have much issue.
We may be able to go April 13, not sure yet.

What model Bronco do you have? Sasquatch pkg?
Jazzie&Boog
@broadicustomworks - Sweet, I would be happy to do a longer ride. The original post was limiting myself in case I was on my own - lol! I'm driving a 2022 Black Diamond with Sasquatch pkg.

@Jazzie&Boog with that setup youā€™re fine to tackle any trail other than the front of Daniel. And even then some have successfully run it with a Sasquatch stock setup.
I havenā€™t. Itā€™s the only portion of trail there I havenā€™t run with mine.

Hello, my fellow carolinians and Bronco enthusiasts! Brad here! As of 3-20-2024 Iā€™m officially IN LOVE WITH MY NEW 2021 (new to mešŸ˜¬)Race Red Ford Bronco OBX! I owned a brand new (actually brand newšŸ˜‚) 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara for 9 years! I didnā€™t think it was possible for me to love another car as much as I did my Jeep! But, itā€™s possible and has happened! I will NEVER go back to driving a Jeep! Not because they arenā€™t great SUV/off road vehicles but, Bronco has the Jeep beat, hands down!! Also, new to the site! I look forward to chatting and getting to know other Bronco owners ! This was my first photo I took with the car! I was just a smidge excited!šŸ˜‚

The website is glitchy for me sometimes too.

If you use FB, join NC Bronco Club! Different than Broncos of the Carolinas, but a very active growing group!

@Jazer I'm interested in joining as well, but I'm not joining FB.

@Saltwater Junkie I totally get it. Unfortunately we just have NC Bronco Club on FB now. There are so many events/meets it's the easiest way for people to share/organize different things. There is a Fort Fisher 4x4 beach drive this coming Saturday.

@Jazer That sounds awesome, I have yet to drive on THAT beach, thanks for posting that event here and hopefully post more events here in the future.

Hard pass on FB, thank you though.

Next weekend in Kinston, NC is an Event called Jeep Affair. It should be a pretty cool couple of days of camping, obstacle courses , show and shine and vendor booths. This year they are opening it to all 4x4 makes and have partnered with Mountains2Metal to get the word out to the Bronco community. We will have a booth there and hope some of you can make it. Details in the link below.

Hurricane creek. Hey everyone, just wanted to know if anyone is gonna be/want to be in NC Jan 29-31? Planning to do hurricane creek near Waynesville NC. You will encounter steep drops on one side of the trail with a steep bank on the other so it can definitely get very technical. There are also plenty of water crossings and tight twisty rocky trails. The scenery is awesome and there are a bunch of trails nearby. Nothing is set in stone yet but Iā€™ll be up there in Maggie valley during those dates and probably end up soloing it if no ones available. Cheers!

New to the group. Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to turn off the ā€œ Canā€™t use screen functionality while driving ā€œ? My 2009 Shelby has GPS and I can touch the screen in a certain location and can turn off the blackout functionality while driving.

Hey Guys, might not have posted it in the correct area, but has anyone heard of the South Caroline Adventure Route? Check out the site below, looks pretty cool, especially a novice off roader like myself. Thinking about checking out some of it this weekend in western York County.

I've organized a Trunk or Treat to be held at Naylor Roadside Market at Naylor Family Farms for Halloween! Event is posted on the NC Bronco Club Facebook group (please join and mark going if you can attend so I can get a rough head count).

Naylor Farms has also offered to hold tickets aside for our group (so they don't sell out) to attend their farm after the Trunk or Treat. Just tell them you are part of the Bronco group to purchase!

Bring your Bronco & bring your family! Should be a ton of fun!

Hello everyone! Just getting back into the forum lifestyle. Been stuck on FB groups for so long and have to figure it all out again.

Anyway, The wife and I just recently purchased a 2022 OBX non sas used. Just seeing what all happens around the Upstate SC area for Broncos. She probably won't do much more than Horsepasture with it. If we want to do anything serious, my JK will handle those duties.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the Triangle area that will do speedometer calibration? Iā€™m going from 33s to 35s and the two dealer service departments Iā€™ve called have both said they will not do it.

I know itā€™s possible in Forscan but I personally donā€™t really want to mess with that.

Thanks!

If you change your mind on Forscan, I'm 45 minutes east of the Triangle. Adjusted mine on my own in Forscan when I went from 35s to 37s. Very easy to do.

Thanks, I did read good things about FlashCal this morning and may go that route when they update for 23 MY.

For what itā€™s worth, I believe the difference between 33s and 35s is really minimal since speedometers are quite under calibrated to begin with. At 60 mph true speed (based on GPS speed app) my speedometer now reads 59 when it used to read 62 with 33s. So Iā€™m fine if I stay with a few mph of the speed limit šŸ˜€

Looking for new trails to run in the WNC area. I have done Old NC 105, Buzzards roost, Hurricane Creek, Bent Creek, and The Pisgah Trails out near Brevard. I am local in Asheville and don't mind driving 2 hours but really want to stick to the more forest service roads or true trails as opposed to OHV parks (nothing against them, just enjoy the quieter trails) Any suggestions?

Hit up the trail this morning. It was a nice little drive for first dirt in the Bronco. Little bit of mud from the storms last night. Just enough to make me look cool on the way home.

@A51Asheville @DrunkingtonBear @BluebroncoNC Bunch of us with NC Bronco Club are headed to Uhwarrie this weekend if anyone is interested.. Meeting at the El Dorado Outpost at 9am and 9pm Thursday though at least Saturday. Come out! There will be a mixed crowd so itā€™ll get split up into those seeking the more difficult stuff and those looking for an easier time.

Also Blue Ridge Broncos meetup at Windrock August 4th and 5th. I wonā€™t be able to make it until Saturday the 5th - some of us are meeting up in Waynesville (on Sat the 5th that is) at Haywood 209 Cafe to roll out around 7am. Come on out!

More info on both is there on FB for NCBroncoClub and IG/www for Blue Ridge Broncos.

Bronco Super Celebration Parking 2023

For everyone coming out on behalf of Broncos Of The Carolinas there is designated club parking.. They have things set up a little differently this year when you pull in youā€™ll drive til you see a sign that says ā€œBroncosā€ pointing right. youā€™ll drive down there to check in, then keep driving straight til the road ends and turn left. Youā€™ll see Georgia Bronco Club at the corner on your left and then we are the next spot after them. The sign says ā€œCarolina Broncosā€ šŸ™„ lol I guess they couldnā€™t fit Broncos Of The Carolinas on there.

Whenever you check in you can ask them where it is and they will point you in the right direction. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

What kind of gear/recovery equipment did y'all bring?

@brybar4 I have a winch, usually carry traction boards and then have a bag with snatch straps/tow ropes, soft shackles, a snatch ring and tree saver. I also carry a bunch of tools and some spare tie rods, air compressor, plug kit, etc

@brybar4
Tow strap and some soft shackles that's about it. I've had to stack rocks under the wheel to get out of some situations that's about the most stuck I've gotten so far.

$400 for 4 door bags plus harness still in plastic. I live outside Raleigh and prefer local meet/pickup. I will keep it here for a week before posting on the marketplace.

I didnā€™t want to take it out of the bag, but there are two door bags in each of the large bags (how it cam from Ford).
