I just picked up a set of Topo Athletic Trailventure 2 shoes and they performed great for me on my Rubicon trip a few weeks ago. They have a nice big toe box for the toesies to stretch, and needed 0 break in.
Normally I used my Garmont T8 NFS military boots but forgot those at home and needed...
I can vouch for the LOD offroad reinforcements. I ran the Rubicon trail last week and broke a CV axle. I had to do lot of winching up Cadillac Hill to complete the trail with 3-wheel drive. The bumper (4WP) was rock solid. They also fit perfectly with the JKS Big Tire Kit body mount brackets...
Thanks for the follow up. Thankfully I haven't had any noise issues on my Eibachs. They did have a little squeek after swapping rear springs but it was remedied with a little spray of fluid film. They did very well on the Rubicon trail last week. I could see having bad shocks though causing a...
What are your thoughts so far on the performance difference between the Eibachs and the Pro Comps now? I have the Eibachs with HD springs, they look to be in much better shape than your old ones.
I managed to break my drivers side right at the outer hub splines. Broke on the Rubicon's Big Sluice while reversing trying to get around a guy. I'm surprised it broke the hub and not one of the CVs.
Anyone have experience with aftermarket replacements like from Autozone or O'Reilly's?
I had one bolt back out on Moab Rim, and the other bolt sheared off right after. I have a diff drop with a spacer there, so I'm surprised to see so many people with the stock setup also having issues.
For the guys that had to extract the bolt shank, what method and tools do you recommend? Mine...
I used the Ford as-built downloader to fix my FP severe duty steering rack that the procal tuner failed to write correctly. It certainly comes in handy!
That's good to know it backs up from my changes. I keep have a lot of backups also saved on my laptop including fresh as-builts from when I...
I had the paracord ones for a while and got tired of it hitting my head all the time when offroading. I switched to the Mabett spring loaded ones and really like them except they are pretty hidden so most passengers never notice they are there. I need to wrap something colorful around the grip...
I have the coilovers and added HD springs in the front for my winch, bumper and skids. I didn't add them in the back yet and I plan to now that they are available. I have tuffy box full of tools and 37s and I definitely have a little rear rake/squat.
Something to keep in mind with the HD...
Which winch mount do you intend to use?
It could interfere with any bumpers or winch mounts that include a frame horn reinforcement tie in that reaches back far enough towards the body mount. *Maybe* a hidden winch like from RC or Lobo would interfere since it replaces the intercooler bottom...
This is one of the things I'm most excited about from SEMA this year, they said price is 30% higher than the brushed options.
The form factor looks a bit different so I'm curious if companies need new mounts to fit these.
I meant the full Trektop. I've been to a lot of Bronco events and I see a lot more people with Trektops than Sunriders or Skyriders. Bestop might be able to give you rough figures but they do offer a competing bimini product so they may be less willing.
