Looks like part #M2DZ-7806200-A for anyone who may run into this in the future. Looks like it includes the tensioner arm and the tensioner in my pics. Not sure it's worth ~$50, if it happens again I'll probably just pitch it in the bin.
Ah hahahah!
Thank you guys. That is it. I can't believe its nearly a direct copy of the JL.
I had no idea that the glovebox even had a tensioner assembly. Assumed that arm was just a retention arm. Had no idea it was aiding a soft open... probably because I put so much weight in the...
I went to replace the cabin air filter today, and after pulling the passenger side glovebox, this part came tumbling out.
I have no idea what this is, it certainly looks important, but even looking up into the glovebox cavity in the dash, there isn't a clear place where this might be coming...
Definitely hear you on that. I'm still a bit torn on them after using them on my JK. Did they save me some sheared-off bolt heads? Perhaps, as you can see from one of mine from below. But then it's still some work to get them off when you strike them like this, because the inner ridge...
Good to hear your experiences with them. If I still lived further north I would have painted them immediately. At my current latitude I'm willing to experiment a bit. We'll see how it goes.
Put the @StinkBug Stinkyfab Racing (SFR) transmission skid and 2.7L crossmember skids on the other day. I'm very impressed by these and they were exactly what I have been looking for ever since giving up my JK for this Bronco.
These installed so easily, and I was amazed how well they fit out...
I just could never get it strapped in the position I wanted to with the Sasquatch wheels and tire combo, which is why I added the other strap on the circumference of the spare. On my old Jeeps I had a different wheel that made it easier to strap the boards directly to the wheel like you did...
It's perfectly stable both on and off road. Stays put on the highway at speed. No rattles or noise and it doesn't come loose. It's worked great.
I made the video public again for you:
It absolutely has to do with Ford, if they are giving that dealer low reimbursement on labor for warranty repairs, and the dealer is struggling with inventory (they are) and looking for places to cut. I'll agree with you though, that I may have to go to another dealer if they don't replace it...
Mine's a '22 and it took upwards of 25k miles for it to happen, but I very rarely use the horn (only when absolutely necessary which is usually less than once per year on average).
The last time I looked, there had been a couple of revisions to this part, but revisions don't always mean design...
I had this crack happen this year. Finally took it in about a month ago for the rear camera recall (which managed to fail the software upgrade and knock out all the connected features), and back then my dealer told me it would be replaced and they ordered the part.
Fast forward to last week...

Thanks Nick, appreciate the honest feedback. (y) I may have to try this one out. I'm glad you used steel for the brackets and kept everything else lightweight, and tried those two awning sizes.
Nice. I've been hoping something like this would come along, I've been wanting to put an awning on my soft top Bronco for a while.
What are the parts of this system made of? Steel or aluminum?
Are these brackets adding any wear points to the soft top gasket or top fabric? How much testing...
