Came across these new renderings. Seems to abandon most classic retro cues and go fully modern. Still prefer this site's concept... it's unmistakeable as anything but a Bronco.
It's good to see Detroit News was so far in front of this news before Ford announced it. They were the ones saying that the UAW agreement calls for a new Bronco by 2020. Let's hope they're right about that one too.
We all know the story and I think due to the fact that the Bronco went out of production 2 years after the infamous OJ freeway chase most people assume he tarnished the name and was the reason the Bronco was discontinued, but how true is that?
There's some interesting stuff in this article...
The 3.5L TT would be a total monster in a smaller sized Bronco. I'm not sure they go that aggressive for the base model but it'd be a good way to save costs and the F-150 should be due for a new engine by the time the new Bronco were to hit the market.
Pardon my ignorance but what does this agreement mean exactly? Is Ford committed under the terms of the contract to build the Bronco or just have the UAW workers do it if the plans go thru? Anyone know?
Yep look how popular the F150 Raptor is and it's built on a much bigger platform. I frequent the F150 forums and a lot of people wish Ford would offer a slightly smaller variant. Fit it with the 3.5L EB and its awesome torque band and it would be just about perfect to me.
With truck sales blazing and hitting all time highs I bet the next truck segment everyone tries to move into will be small trucks. Wrangler's in that segment so makes sense if Bronco comes out and competes with it directly.
If they build a next gen Bronco it is virtually guaranteed they will also build a Ford Performance version of it. Ford is pushing the performance cars like mad and there are tons of trickle down benefits from the F150 they could use. Man this has me excited just thinking about it.
