My midsize dealer in Ohio had 60 orders drop off with 79 remaining for 2023. Even if they’re allocated 15-20 a month it’ll take til late spring/early summer to get the rest of us scheduled. I’m one of their older orders at this point (Oct. 2021) but still amazing that Ford is this slow to trim...
Nothing will show in your Ford account until you get a VIN. Nothing to worry about, I called a few months ago and asked the same question since I'm in the same boat.
I was told by Ford customer service that you can't do it. Us recent orders who didn't get a reservation number have to wait for a VIN for the order to appear in the ford account.
I used to be a paint chemist for a company that supplies to the OEM’s, so I’m particular about this sort of thing. It’s definitely a defect they should’ve caught in QC.
What you’re looking at is called solvent pop. It happens when solvents aren’t allowed to flash off long enough prior to entering the oven and erupt through the semi-cured paint. Root cause is probably a thicker than normal application of clearcoat film given that flash times are set by line speed.
@JJ Bronco Mine's not overly complicated either, black diamond with MIC top/mid package and 2.3L engine. I'm hopeful to get it next summer/fall. I wouldn't expect any funny business with Germain but let me know how the buying experience is!
@BuckeyeDuramax Nope I got Scott Cropper, he's been really responsive and got my order in less than an hour after I sent it over. Sounds like Germain is getting a good amount of allocations and have 200ish orders
Hey Adool, good to see another Greif guy in the forum! I ordered at Germain and they're not selling below MSRP and didn't know about X-Plan for 2022. The sales guy who took my order believed they'd go whichever way Ford went on the X-Plan for the new model year.
I just reserved my MY2022 from Germain in Columbus and got assurances both verbally and in an email that there will be no ADM. Seems like a dealership wide policy based on my conversation with the salesman, so I wouldn't worry.
