@SierraBronco
Amazing summary, thank you for clarifying the situation. That's very valuable information. Sounds like I was pretty inaccurate on the true culprit.
There was some huge scandal with ADV taking a bunch of deposits for their hard top and then squandering it all and screwing a bunch of customers if I remember right? I think they are generally untrusted but I could be wrong, it's been a while.
Editing this for SierraBronco's response below. I...
@Smokeyorange Merry Christmas, brother! I'm also a 2021 owner (pre-order in 2020) and I check this forum daily, still.
Happy holidays to all BroncoBros!
Keep us posted! I "installed" the lights so I didn't have two square wholes in my bumper, but I never wired them lol. They're just for show on my bumper haha
Also I have a 2021 basesquatch, so I don't have sensors and thus mine are all plugged.
Good luck! Mine is still holding up well after my tweaks, and it’s the original pre-order version.
fingers crossed they worked out the kinks on the iteration you receive!
So far so good on mine. Again I did have to visit Ace for some alternative hardware to make the heim joints work, but the new bump stops made a huge difference for me in terms of alignment.
I still notice a LOT of wiggle and jiggle when closing the swing gate and driving over bumps, even with...
Hey! I understand your frustration for sure. The "tailgate bracket" I received wasn't really a redesign. The major change was the rubber bump stops. Maybe reach out about receiving those? As far as I can tell the design of the bracket and the tiny bump stop on that piece itself didn't...
As usual, customer service was top tier. No questions asked on my bracket failure, and the service was of $0.00 cost to me. Great working with them.
Ok so new bracket showed up (thanks @TURN Todd for expediting it)
the new rubber bump stops helped tremendously, though I did have to slice...
I'm glad to see they dropped that bracket a little lower, that's a big player in forcing the alignment on mine. Unfortunately I don't have the newest version of the bumper so it's the old bracket for me.
They are sending me a new tailgate bracket (so I can replace the one that just snapped)...
@Turn Offroad @TURN Todd
Well it’s as I feared: after a few trips I just discovered this… it would seem the bounce that occurs may have lead to fatigue on the bracket.
To Get proper alignment I did have to use extra washers and a linger bolt which may have contributed, in all fairness.
Looks pretty slick. I do have an order in so we’ll see how long it takes.
Honestly less of a hassle in the long run if I ever need to swap my spare on!
