I guess Google can be your friend. Here is an article from 2017 that mentions the ordinance. Link "The Currituck County Board of Commissioners passed an ordinance May 15 to help residents and visitors like Tyree help themselves. It requires drivers on the northern beaches to first "air down.""

@TMP No need to use quotes. Yes, from friends. Who live in Southern Shores. Also friends who live in Duck. I'm just passing along what I was told by people I trust. If they are wrong, then so be it. I'll be me, you be you. Which you obviously are...

We've owned property down there since the 70's. I know more than a few locals. The way it was explained to me, if you get stuck and your tires aren't aired down, there is a fine in addition to the recovery fee. Again, just what I've been told by friends who are locals.

Local ordinance. All vehicles must air down. I agree with you, though. Been driving on the sand there since the 80s. I hadn't been on the sand in a few years, and was told about the ordinance by a neighbor.

Airing down/up went smoothly. It was off season, though. I'd imagine the lines are much longer in season.

I do. I know many probably don't, but from past experience those are the areas that get the most damage from debris on road. I only wish they would have added a piece for under the grille to keep it all uniform.

So, I'll be down on the OBX next week - 4/10 through 4/15. Anyone want to meet up one day for a run from Corolla to the VA line and back? Maybe some of the sand roads behind the dunes, too, looking for horses?
  10. How the hell do I get my Saint Bernard and my German shepherd in my Sasquatch?

I lift my English Mastiff in to the back of mine. She helps by getting her front paws in the back, and I only need to lift the back half. Probably only 65% of her weight, so 130 lbs, or so.

    Nice little park near me...
  12. Never got your assembly line photo? Maybe someone has a match!

2 door, WT, HPR, with side steps
  13. Rusting accessory bolts

I picked mine up on 3/4. Asked the dealership to order replacements before signing the paperwork. They said they can't get just the bolts. They need to order the entire trail sight assembly. I bet that requirements changes soon. I took my screws out when I got home, sprayed them with rust...
  14. Stock Outer Banks on the Outer Banks Beaches

I've been to the OBX pretty much every summer since 1970. Built a house in Southern Shores in 1992. Have driven the beaches from Hatteras to Corova and anywhere in between where vehicles are allowed, in Pickups, Expeditions, and Excursions. Bought the Bronco primarily for fishing on the OBX. I...

I got my baby photo 6 days after I took delivery. 18 Days after it was built.
