I got this come-a-long from Wyeth-Scott instead of a winch. I got a tree strap, but am considering this Dead Man earth anchor. You can use it on trees/rocks or dig a hole as a last resort haha.
I recommend a regular hitch and the Kuat Pivot. The pivot provides enough clearance for the spare tire, and has the added bonus of swinging/pivoting the bike rack out of the way so you can open your tailgate.
It's easy enough to remove when you go wheeling, doesn't rattle.
HAHA at least I knew what my vehicle has. But I probably shouldn't have bought them, now that I know they aren't what's typically breaking (the beer made me do it).
I just don't wanna be that guy that gets stranded out there with nothing. Or maybe I can help someone else who needs a spare. I'm...
Oi vey.
So is there another part number I should have got? Admittedly, I've never broke a tie rod and was going to use the spares to learn how to change them out before I actually needed to do it.
Kudos for taking the time to post the relevant bits here, instead of just a link :)
I just ordered a set from Ford, with the current 15% discount code (REDEEM725) and used some Ford Pass points to boot:
