Couple questions... @CarbonSteel
1. Your engine oil of choice does not seem to be listed on your very well put together spreadsheet. Am I just overlooking it?
2. Assuming you are installing the new UPR plug?
Never thought I would be excited to see so many o-rings on something!
Looks very well made, thank you for the pictures. Now the question is, when are you installing it?
Agree on this - Keep us posted if you pull the trigger on the new design and how it stacks up against the Ronin. Looking forward to hearing your (hopefully positive) feedback.
Those are all very valid points, certainly questions which need asking... Regarding the added spring washer, the one answer that comes to mind almost immediately is found in the other thread where @telenerd was trying to figure out how to remove the plug. He has since figured it out, but I...
Very solid point… you are exactly right and we know how well these plastic components are with a little convincing, lol.
If the UPR eliminates the leakage I am getting from the Ronin, with the only caveat being removing the skids… that’s an inconvenience I am willing to deal with for the peace...
1. Completely agree, although, I wonder how challenging it would be to slide the hose over the portion that screws out of the assembly. It accepts a 1/2" hose, just might take some convincing to get it onto the valve. I think it is possible, but it would require some effort.
2. Exactly, which...
Looks like they took the Ronin and attempted to improve it with their new product. I think the original one may be the way to go, the locking arms seem to add the extra layer of protection and now with the information that the blue piece clicks into place from the other thread, it only makes...
I am not seeing any information saying there is any form of safety preventing it from backing out. If it solely relies on it remaining tightly threaded, I am not a fan of that. But, I will look forward to your feedback once you get it installed... That is if my mind allows me to not purchase...
Any feedback on the performance of the UPR?
Was curious to see if there is any weeping around where it connects to the oil pan.
@CarbonSteel and I have been discussing whether or not the UPR maybe superior to the Ronin... Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated!
If only every aftermarket product did not have to have an inevitable weak point.
I share your concerns completely and have overthought this topic enough that I am considering going back to using the OEM plug. Other than the inconvenience of taking off skids, I had no issue with slowly...
I have the same exact "weeping" issue... I am glad to hear that I am not the only one. That puts my mind at ease, because it was my main concern and the only problem I could pinpoint was being able to see the wave spring.
Thanks for the feedback! Looking forward to not removing the skids as well.
