3W auto life graciously chose me to win some floor mats based on a photo of me taking a break (with a Gaelic ale) after cleaning up the undercarriage from a Windrock run.
I have wash out floors on my ride. The stock mats have served me well. I do have some gripes I will get into during this initial impression.
Firstly, these come in a great box, this may be mostly unimportant to people who will just be replacing mats and not using two sets.
When I put my picture out there and my "dirtiest" my interior gets (I said something like try coal tar and chert mud or some such) I actually did not think about winning. I was just being ironic as many of the posts were more of what I thought of as pavement princess problems.
So now initial thoughts are, on unboxing I was excited and skeptical. i pulled them all out to lay flat for a bit in the heat.
The tread pattern immediately reminded me of the mats we got to replace the carpet mats on the HEEP way back in 2013.
Except more of a K02 pattern than a mud terrain or Bogger.
On clipping the front in I noticed the driver mat more thoroughly covers the footrest.
I have a lot of fun cleaning mud out of this with the stock mat only slightly covering it.
I do initially like the mat fit in the front. I like the design and it seems to be better coverage than the stock mat.
The second row fits well also, as pictured.
I have a gripe on these back mats, as you all can see by the sorry shape of my interior plastic, I see mud and debris. Ford had it right on making the rear a two piece. It makes it easier to remove containing the debris. Attached I will have to juggle as I move it across. Score one for Ford.
The 3W has a rear mat which I have not had.
I can't figure out why they did not cut it for the tie downs? Do all Broncos not have them? I will see how I like it as I am in and out of the tray often. (I modified it to hold my onboard air.)
My initial impression is positive, I will get them really dirty, pressure wash them and see which is cleaner. (The Ford mats stay dingy after pressure wash.) Whichever deals with the elements better will end up my off-road mat, the other will be my regular explore mat. We will see if I end up just one and not switching after that.
I will do a review after that, and we will see if my mind remembers much later to do a long-term review. I just looked up the current price point on these and as of 1/19/2026 they are $159 to $200. I would like once again to Thank 3W auto life for this opportunity to try out their product. I hope they are ready for truth sauce as I see it. We had an initial adventure yesterday on Blood MTN. at the AT.
