Ok, I ordered the Steeda muffler with the black exhaust extension. Now I need to turn off my fake sound enhancement. This is a lot smaller than the factory exhaust and hopefully quite a bit lighter. Also I may add the DV8 enlarged hidden storage compartment so this smaller exhaust should make that install easier.

So using Google, I think I want to disable the ESE system while keeping the ANC. Since I have the lux package, per Google:

"2026 Bronco Badlands with the Lux package. While both systems use the same speaker hardware, they are controlled by separate digital flags in the vehicle's computer.

How to Disable ESE and Keep ANC
  • FORScan "Easy Mode" (Recommended): Use the FORScan software with an OBDII adapter. Navigate to the Audio Control Module (ACM) (the non-as-built version). You will see distinct toggles for:
    • Engine Sound Enhancement: Set this to Disabled.
    • Active Noise Cancellation: Leave this set to Enabled."
Not sure if I want to try this DIY using Forscan or ask dealer.

Went to install exhaust. Was able to break the clamp nut free and loosen the collar, removed the isolators from the muffler, but after 3 winters, the muffler is not budging from the pipe. Going to have muffler shop deal with it.

My suggestion to anyone doing the swap in their garage: if you want to do it yourself do it early before anything rusts. Right now the muffler and pipe are frozen together, so don't wait 3.5 years like i did

Or, see if you can remove your muffler before ordering, I probably should have done that

and you'll need a 15mm deep socket for the clamp bolt, and i also had to use a breaker bar, so have those handy

Spray it with PB Blaster and try it in the morning.

Quick question, what sized deep socket 15mm do I need? 1/4, 1/2, 3/8?

Been in the same boat as Liberty, so letting a shop take care of it tomorrow. I did spray a ton of WD40 on the underside afterwards

Nearly 2 years in with this exhaust, and I'm still very happy with it - even with paying more than the current pricing!

W/the CVFab Downpipe and Volant CAI, my girl sounds like a turbo tuner now... It's definitely interesting, but she's still got 140 miles to go during the break in, so this weekend, I'll take her out for sure, see if that mellows things

That said, do hear the pops and stuff and I won't almost miss a shift as I drive with the doors and top off later on
