I've had my ditch lights for like 5 years with no issues at all, installed where ford said we could, powered with my factory aux cables on my factory switches.

Now that I have a driver side BLISS error, repairs are apparently 100% automatically denied by Ford according to my dealer if you have a light installed there. No debate, no logic, no appeals, nothing, apparently straight from Ford HQ.

To fix it id have to pay over $3,000 out of pocket for a new mirror assembly and programming from the dealer.

WTF?

Check your rear wire harness by the bumper under the tail lights. Known issue where the wire gets frayed by rubbing. The BLIS sensors is located right below the tail lights.

@PrepVet has had this issue.

... also, find a new dealer.
Sounds like they really really do not want to deal with you.

Dealer was surprisingly great otherwise. They fully replaced both my shocks on recall unexpectedly and warrantied my fuel pump with no issue even though I'm tuned. For some reason there's some kind of memo or something saying they can't replace the mirror if the customer has ever mounted a light.

Honestly I'm going to check the wires as noted above (supposedly they ran tests and determined the issue was internal to the mirror though), and if thats not it I'm going to take the ditch lights off and take it to another dealer and give it a shot.

Ok, I can kind of see an issue, but damn ...
Any input @Ducati1098 ?

Where did you install the light? Are they talking about the ditch light being a warranty violation?

My dealer replaced my cowl after I had problems running a wire under it. The service writer was going to charge me. The technician said that Ford intended for people to run wires and add lights. That's why they put in upfitter switches. The new cowl was covered under warranty.

But then my dealer calls themselves "The Dealer That Service Built." And they live up to it.

It's the light in my picture. Tbh I'd just ignore the whole thing and it would be a non-issue if I didnt have to hit ok to close the error pop-ups every few min when driving.

I'd make him prove that your light is the problem. By his logic the problem would go away if you removed the light. Not only that but he shoud be able to explain why you were able to go years without a BLISS error. That's assuming that you haven't made other changes recently.

That’s complete nonsense, and definitely not from Ford. It’s just your dealer making shit up.

The position of those lights don’t affect BLIS in any way possible.

Bring it to a different dealer.

Maybe his dealer was a FIAT dealer in another life?

The dealership I ordered mine through put them and a 2-inch level lift on my 2021 Badlands Sasquatch before I picked it up in 2021. If my BLIS goes out it’s on them.

I guess 'Accessory Ready' doesn't translate to 'Accessory allowed'. Some dealers will deny warrantee service for the smallest things (seat worn, door used too often, not stock tires, etc.) lol

My wiring in the rear actually came wrapped pretty well, solid tape all over still which is surprising.
