This is a question, as the title states, specifically for the Stroppe owners with the matte finishes - but anyone with similar experience is welcome to chime in.

Just got mine and am wondering what all of you are doing as far as washing and exterior care.

I have been down the rabbit hole looking at matte washes, detailers, etc. Still uncertain what the best way to keep this looking good and caring for the matte wrapped hood, matte painted tailgate and matte wheels. Considering some partial Xpel PPF (Front end [grill, lower grill, upper side front fenders], Fender flares, A-pillars/upper windshield, and rockers). Ceramic coating is also an option when they do the wrap.

I'm coming from an FJCruiser I have owned for 18 years, and always just used McGuires cleaner wax & Quick Detailer on it. Spray washed at the coin washes, but use my own wash mitt as I wash. Or driveway bucket hand wash. Of course it has some pinstripes and swirl marks from the years. I have clay bar(ed) it over the years as well. Still looking really good.

Love the look of the Stroppe, but exterior care already has me overly stressed out... This will not be offroaded near as hard as the FJ (as far as tight trails/brush... hopefully,) and just want to keep it looking new for a good while. It will be garage kept cause I am in Texas with some hot summers!!

Already ordered some RokBlokz XL/long mudflaps to mitigate rock chips on the sides...

Any exterior care suggestions/experience/insights would be super helpful.

Ive had no issues. The only thing I give special attention to is the hood. I always wash the Bronco at the local self wash. I dont use the high pressure on the hood. Just get it good and wet with the suds. wash the reast of the truck, come back and rinse the hood off. Sometimes it needs a wipe down with a micro fiber before rinsing. So far nothing looking like its having trouble. The Swing gate wasz painted to match the first week I owned it so it requires no special attention.

Stressed over this at first as well, just purchased it in June, and even took it to a auto car wash before I knew what I was doing, but no issues (won't do it again). I've used the Chemical Guys Matte Shampoo for hand washes since and it's been great. Water spots show on the hood and tail gate easily, but I just wash it like regular and haven't had any issues. I'm considering a PPF for the hood I assume it's going to get dinged up, just from highway use. The side rails seem to protect the body well enough, I've done some light off roading and haven't had any issues, don't plan on anything too hard on it. I don't love the look of the protective flaps, but may consider if it's an issue. The wheels, I just used regular wheel cleaner that says it's safe for black painted wheels. Absolutely love the vehicle.

I’m kind of digging the paint matched rear door idea. How much did that cost and did you paint over the black or a new panel?

Yeah, that’s what I was researching too, some matte specific wash. Dr. Beasley seems like a pretty good resource for matte protection products. They seem pricey, but I may end up ordering some up. They even have a ceramic coating the matte vinyl. Thanks for the input!

i had the dealer do it. 1400 bucks. I bought another swing gate so I could put the original in yhe rafters. I dont think you will be disappointed. I canged the emblems from black to brushed too.

Forgot to ask, did you have them start with a primed swing gate or an oxford white w clear coat?
