[Product Feedback Wanted] Is a $79 Lockable Quick-Release Front Plate Mount Worth It for the Bronco?

We’ve been working on a front license plate mounting solution for the Ford Bronco, and before we tell everyone why we think it makes sense, we’d rather hear what actual Bronco owners think.

For owners living in a state or local jurisdiction that requires a front plate, the usual options are not always ideal: drill into the vehicle, accept a basic fixed bracket, or mount the plate somewhere that may interfere with the Bronco’s front-end equipment.

Our goal is to create a cleaner and more practical alternative.

What We’re Trying to Solve

1. A Proper Front Plate Location

The mount provides a dedicated front-facing position for a standard U.S. license plate, helping owners meet local front-plate requirements without treating the Bronco’s front end like a practice board for a cordless drill.

2. Quick Release Without Drilling

The center-knob design allows the plate bracket to be installed or removed quickly.

No drilling, cutting, or permanent modification is required. Turn the knob to secure it, and reverse the process when the plate needs to come off.

Quick removal could be useful for cleaning, trail use, photography, or accessing other front-mounted equipment.

3. Secure Fit Without Shifting or Rattling

A quick-release bracket is not very helpful if it spends every rough road attempting to relocate itself.

The mounting structure is designed to remain firmly secured after installation, reducing unwanted movement, vibration, and plate rattle during normal driving.

4. Built-In Locking Protection

Once the mount is locked, the center knob cannot be turned normally. This helps prevent someone from simply walking up, loosening the knob, and leaving with the plate and bracket.

Convenient for the owner. Considerably less convenient for everyone else.

5. Designed to Avoid the Sensor Area

The mounting position is designed to keep the plate clear of the Bronco’s front sensor area, so adding a legally required plate does not create a new problem elsewhere on the vehicle.

Planned Price: $79

The planned price for the complete lockable quick-release front license plate mount is $79.

We know less expensive fixed brackets are available. This concept is intended for owners who value the combination of:

• No-drill installation
• Quick removal and reinstallation
• A firm, low-movement mounting structure
• Built-in locking protection
• Sensor clearance
• Bronco-specific fitment

The question is whether those features make $79 feel reasonable.

What Do Bronco Owners Think?

We’d appreciate honest Bronco6G feedback:

• Would you prefer a centered or slightly offset plate position?
• Would you realistically use the quick-release function?
• Is a built-in lock important, or would tamper-resistant hardware be enough?
• Are plate vibration and rattling major concerns?
• What front bumpers, cameras, lights, winches, or other accessories should we consider?
• Does $79 feel reasonable for this design?

We’re not looking for polite approval. If there is a fitment concern, missing feature, or deal-breaker, we would genuinely rather hear it before the design is finalized.

Seems like a waste of money. Why lockable? Who's stealing license plates? I got a no-drill removable bracket for 30 bucks on Amazon. This also looks like it blocks the radar box for ACC.

I would not buy a mount with a QD mechanism - unnecessary weight, bulk, and expense. A well located front plate would never need to be removed.

NHNT, but the "lock" is blatantly a cheap-as-chips wafer unit, probably takes a CH751 key that you already have in your pocket, and you could break it faster and with a smaller tool than it would take to uninstall a regular plate mount.

Here's what is missing in the market. A no drill front plate bracket that does not block headlights, auxiliary fog lights, or the ACC. And does not hang below the bumper where it's subject to getting bent offroading. Locks are not needed.

Novel idea but not sure if the market is there.
I would rather have one that’s angle adjustable.

What I mean is ability to adjust between the straight and slanted options and locking it at each (something like angle locking hinge) would be quite useful! (DV8 has one for each but not an adjustable one)
