I recently bought Mabett Rear Speaker Pods, added sound deadening material and installed Kicker KS Series 6.5” Speakers in the enclosures. I also plan to change-out the Dash and Kick Panel speakers, as part of my upgrade.

The Mabett Pods I bought were made for the 4-door Bronco, but I have heard that some have installed them on their 2-door Broncos, like mine.

Well, after all that prep work, I found that my OEM speaker brackets don’t quite line-up with the bracket holes on the Pods… and I don’t know why Mabett didn’t create a simple bracket compatible with the 2-door.

Has anyone here successfully found a way to install the Mabett Pods on their 2-door Bronco?

If so, I would love to hear how you did that, short of fabricating a custom bracket.

Any input will be greatly appreciated…✅

Man, you make a good point! I assumed I had the Pods oriented correctly, because the speaker holes were facing forward. I’ll definitely re-check that and will feel absolutely lost (stupid) if you’re right… and I’ll owe you! Thank you for the feedback! ✅

I may have pics on here somewhere, but I have the back half off right now and will take some pics to show you what my setup looks like.

FYI, there is room for a 3D printed part to make the mounting more stable, but I don't take it easy and they've been just fine.

Thanks, again! I would like to see your set-up, if you have a few pics you can post

I re-checked the speaker orientation and (thankfully) I had it right. The problem is, the OEM speaker bracket screw holes don’t come anywhere close to lining-up with the mating holes in the Pods (they’re a 1/2” off).

A new bracket would be ideal, but difficult to fab. Alternately, I can drill new holes in the Pod, but it’ll take adding a backing plate inside the Pod to beef-up and level the mating surface where the bracket and screws will hit.

This is turning into more of a “project” than I wanted, but had shopped a little more, I might’ve avoided the pain. Lesson learned… ;)

I'm so sorry @Shiver Me Timbers I took the pics and totally forgot about it.

Here is how they have been running for three years as of this Wednesday:

...so, you have a totally different bracket. I don't know how I got this one. Maybe they made a two-door before or just included both brackets, but Amazon links to the four-door so I may never know for sure.
