Can’t wait until my bus (OBX) shows up. Really could care less what anyone else thinks. I’m paying for it not them

So I'm a photographer and yellow is color that's tough to accurately photograph and most people's photos aren't properly white balanced so it's going to look different in everyone's photos. That is, unless they properly white balance and color correct the photo.

Example, you can see in the first photo that jaws posted that the color is more orange because you can see that the white balance of the photo is warm (look at the grey concrete) compared to his other shots.

The other color that people always photograph wrong is CG. If you get the white balance even slightly warm then the super slight minty green in the paint doesn't show up. Or if you go slightly cold then it looks way too blue/green.

And then this also all comes down to what type of monitor you're viewing the photo on. If it's a cheap TN display at an office then color accuracy will be trash. The best thing to probably view photos on that's very common is an iPhone.

I have a 240Z in yellow (check my profile pic) that I have to painstakingly color correct so it looks like it does in real life. If I'm slightly off it can look more canary yellow or go the other way towards more orange.

It honestly looks more like a creamsicle orange to me in real life. Very muted.

both of these images were scaled down from their full size (4032 x 3024 Pixel 4a5g camera) and white balanced using Dark Table (open source light table type product)
Here it is against a white truck on a rainy overcast day which was what I used to set the white balance of the image.

And here it is again using the white of the humvee in the distance to set the white balance for the image. This is a partially sunny day after washing it.

To truly appreciate CO, it has to be sunny. The metallic REALLY pops in the sun.

Yeah, when you get CO in the sun it really pops. You can tell there’s actual orange in it.

I think camera, light and angle make every photo different. Same camera, time and location.

Agree 100%.
I got some letter covers for the grille off amazon that said they matched... they do not. That darker band kind of matches, but that's only darker cause that's the curve on the hood. But anyways, these closeups in the sun show the orange like yours.
