You know what. You’re 100% correct. I’ve seen that they ship without glass and call in a glass company to swap them. Forgot about that. Hopefully the glass guy can do the swap without destroying the film.
That would work, but a lot of extra effort for no reason. I’ve run wires behind the dash and it is not near as easy as just going through one of the two grommets available right next to the fuse box. And you can save that glove box pass through wire for something else in the future.

The video they posted on page 17 addresses this. If you have or will have a hardtop get the hardtop kit. The mounting location for soft top blocks access to the hardtop latches. The hardtop kit has extra brackets which relocates them out of the way, and works with both tops.
