Curious if anyone else may have come across this...
I received my email from Ford stating a scheduled week of 3/27 along with VIN and link to "Track My Order" back on 1/26. Now when I click the link it only shows 'order confirmed' and no longer reflects the 'scheduled week of' stage in green...
So, I have an interesting scenario now. All of this noise around price protection concerns started me feeling a bit paranoid. So, I checked in with Samantha. She forwarded my query over to the Finance Director...
He stated that my Model Year Transition money wasn't available due to the...
Any experience with Cooper STT Pro's? I ran them on another vehicle for a brief period before selling, but liked them while I had it. Considering a set for when my Bronco finally arrives...
Quick plug for anyone like me who recently got scheduled and can finally start feeling more comfortable about mod purchases.
@GoatFab is currently offering 23% off.
I have no affiliation whatsoever, but some of their stuff looks really nice.
Grabbing some pinch seam plates on the cheap for...
Yes. I was around 180-something. 10/1 original reservation. BaseSquatch, 2.3, with auto.
Literally a day or so from making the call to remove SAS to try and get it built and received the surprise email this morning.
Wife and I were already heading down to Fredericksburg, TX for spring break.
Just did some quick research. It's only 43 miles from Horseshoe Bay, TX...
So I booked the Off-Roadeo for 3/20!
I just opened my email a few seconds ago...
The official "Your vehicle is scheduled for production" from Ford!
Thank goodness I didn't remove SAS from my base order yet.
Build week of March 27 and have a VIN!!!
This is what I'd like to have done at this point as well. Have you by chance been able to confirm with Granger that they'll throw the wheels and tires on for you? Possibly give you a credit/cash reimbursement value for the take offs?
Any chance you checked with Granger on a potential buy back option? It would be nice to have new wheels/tires shipped directly to them to be mounted and ready to roll upon pick up. Then they just credit you for the OEM’s…
That’d be my preference.
My biggest issue is being handcuffed with an original BaseSquatch order. The online build tool literally cannot/will not allow one to remove SAS and manually add back in full-time 4WD and rear lockers. Infuriating. I don't mind as much going aftermarket for a leveling kit and wheels/tires (if...
Totally agree, and I'm definitely not trying to beat them up (hope it doesn't come across that way!). I'm sure they're as frustrated as anyone while attempting to navigate these murky waters for hundreds of potentially emotional buyers.
And, I certainly understand them not putting out any kind...
More confused than ever... Here's the response from Samantha when asked about changing trim level from Base to Outer Banks and qualifying for the $2,500:
"From the documents we have received, removing constraints qualifies you for the additional $2500. Switching trims does not apply."
Man...
This completely blows if accurate. I had checked with Samantha yesterday to verify that if I removed SAS from my Base build and moved to an Outer Banks with Mid and no SAS that I would qualify for the $2,500. She confirmed it would, and now I'm reading this!
Just sent her a follow-up email...
Yep. I spec’d the OB with 4.27, rear lockers, and Advanced. Also good with just Mid package. So hopefully they’re about as comparable as possible.
I’m not against the vinyl necessarily and like the flexibility it provides for clean up, but when I consider how I’ll use it 95% of the time the...
Good point. My BD build is $44.6k vs the comparable OB build being $45.4k (MSRP). So the primary question now is whether the slightly nicer interior and painted flares are worth $800 since I’ll probably swap out wheels and tires anyway. Unless I’m missing something…
Where'd you end up with the spacer situation? I'm considering a 2" lift on a non-Sas with the stock steelies. Figure it'll need spacers to run 35x11.5's.
Dang it... Now you've got me reconfiguring and making things more expensive! Guess the bright side is the $2,500 plus $2k under invoice. Now Black Diamond is looking awfully attractive with the mid package. I dig the old school black steel wheels. Just would need a small lift and 35's.
I like this concept but not sure how much extra work/potential liability (?) Granger is going to want to undertake.
Had a similar thought regarding them offering install of one of the simple lifts like the Zone 2” prior to pickup for those of us having to give up Sas.
